This may be off-topic, but some of the replies have referred to "social status," and I have noticed in a number of the fiction items the notion that once a guy loses his balls, or especially if he loses "everything down there," he is somehow overcome with the need to be subservient to "real men," that is, "entire" males. My perrsonal opinion is that this is malarkey, or, at best, wishful thinking from a gay sub. But *is* there any truth to it? And why should it be so widespread, especially in the "nullo" fiction archives? (Not that it is really frequent, but there is a significant, say 10-20% of stories where it is a sub-theme).

Personally I don't feel any less of a man after castration than I did before. To me it wasn't any different than getting a tattoo (obviously with a whole different set of results).

I wish I could go back to the way it was before puberty when everything was simple and I was happy.

I grew up in a NW farming town and my wife in a South American city. Between the male/female, rural/urban, Cauc/Latina aspects, when we agree on something it probably is pretty universal. One thing we do agree on is that life was pretty easy peasy before the puberty smackdown. Guess that is how life is meant to be, so we should just deal with it and get on.

This nullo can only speak for himself but... It made me a lot more Dominant. Though I'm mostly a one man kind of guy these days, and my partner knows there is really only one other guy I wish to have relations wth other than him. He's supportive of it because I only see that guy once a year, a fellow nullo, and partner is ok with it because he knows thats a kind of sex he can't give me.

until going to the MoM last year I had never met another eunuch face to face so had none other but myself to Devine whether or not a eunuch was still a man. I had a wonderful time and got to know a good bit more about eunuchs and if it was possible to just drop all eunuch down the same definitions. Now that I have shared bread with other eunuchs I can say it is not possible to take the notion that all eunuchs are anything except individual human beings. We may be bound together by the fact that each is missing testes but that is where the similarities come to a screeching halt. Eunuchs are males who are missing testes. Period. Each is vastly different from another after that. To say a male who has lost a member of his body is no longer a man is absurd. Of course I proffer to the physical. Psychological is very individual.

Over this last year I have lost all manly abilities and am trying to get used to the changes but I have definitely realized I am still a male.

I wholeheartedly agree. Gender identity is entirely subjective. There are those who have their penis or testicles removed who still identify as as men, those who identify as eunuchs, those who identify as agender, and those who identify as some other binary or nonbinary transgender identity. Biological sex is immutable, although we can change our sex characteristics. Gender identity is as varied and individual as a fingerprint.

You are not what you think you are.
You are not what others think you are.
You are what you think others think you are.
Be yourself and everything else falls into place.
Recently I have identified a Eunuch as a gender, but more for fun and shock value (it didn't shock as I expected). I have "come out" to friends as having been castrated, though not with a different gender identity. Nobody (at least to my face) has treated me differently. I'm growing more comfortable with Eunuch as a gender identity and yet it hasn't changed who I have always been. My comfort is related more to accepting that at least physically, I am different and it's okay.
