I think that you're going to have to try differing doses until you get the right dosage to suit your desire. "Too little" and you have a propensity to gain weight, while "too much" and your libido returns to "almost" normal. Some degree of "manageable" libido might be necessary to control weight. That's been my experience, anyway.
Yes, I find that with t-cypionate enough to give normal free t levels, I am normal shape and with uncastrated libido. When I stop the t, the libido take a few months to disappear, as a feeling of peaceful wellbeing comes. Erections go to zero, butt goes to significantly more than zero, and small breasts begin. All-in-all, I guess it's what 's to be expected, and feels very good. Strength? It takes more effort to maintain physical fitness, but it has not been a significant issue.
Summary: normal T feels like normal T; no T feels very different but also very good. Nothing bad about being a eunuch!

Ooops! Didn't read the question clearly.
Body changes? Bigger ass, small boobs, smaller dick, and happy. Life is good.
(Answers are short when you actually read a perfectly clear question....)

I'm two months in and with testosterone replacement therapy, I haven't noticed any changes. However until I got on testosterone replacement it didn't take very long before I had very noticeable penis shrinkage, lack of erections, and inability to orgasm. Had some hot flashes, though I didn't notice any growth of breast tissue. I probably just wasn't without T long enough for that. The reason I chose surgical castration was recuperation time. My wife was actually in favor of a Burdizio, but I didn't want to have to deal with the swelling and longer recuperation time. Possibility of infection was a large consideration as well...

Hope you are happy with the result. I had some of the best times without T, so maybe give it a try?
(If you want to go for a long time with no T, ask your doc to make sure you keep well. Most do, but some need help.)

Actually I plan on foregoing the Testosterone at some point. When I lost my natural T it was so abrupt I became a little depressive, so I decided to get on the Replacement Therapy for a little while as my body adjusted to its new situation.
But yes I'm extremely happy with the results. My wife and I are done having kids, she's had a hysterectomy, and now I've been castrated. Frankly I don't know why I took so long to do it now.

I think that life has many stages. The best is to enjoy them all.
We move from one to the next. Some changes happen with our increasing birthdays, and some we can choose.
We too went for a while with no T at first, but my room mate was not as ready as she thought. We're way done with having kids and so on, so going back to no T may well come soon. We plan to enjoy that too.

Will getting on HRT prevent most of the weight gain?

Somewhat, but it also depends on what you eat and how you exercise. Life is unjust. Weight cannot all be blamed on T, it seems...

HRT, or not, seems to have no effect on my weight. The source would be my father's side of the family. We all start out as skinny kids and then develop a large belly as we enter middle age. --FLO--
