Is it possible to make subscription an option?

At the moment I can't really put a lot of money into a donation but I would find it easy to sign up for a monthly subscription.

I find it hard to agree with this statement. MaleBodyMods ask $20 for a year BIANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION.

If EA ask $1.66 MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION, that would be $20 for the year. I would think it would be "easier" and affordable to donate $10 once off rather than $1.66 for a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. I think, if one can afford it, that one should at least donate $20.

I could be wrong, but I understand EA to be more like Wikipedia...a library of information for those who are considering to inflict some serious harm to themselves as well as a source of valuable information (provided by first hand experience from members) to those in the medical community that study people like us. EA is not like MBM or BME. Requiring a subscription would prevent people from joining the Archive which could result in serious harm or even death as they could not acquire this information.

Just like Wikipedia (they also ask donations every year), the EA exists on donations. Come on boys and girls, let us keep this information free to the world which would one day enlighten the medical community to understand us better and change their paradigm rather than hiding behind a subscription based website causing them to think that we are freaks or a cult.

What about ads?

We don't use the subscription method - we don't have a merchant account to charge cards for example. All we ask is do what you can afford, when you can afford it.

As for running ads, we investigated that last year. None of the operations that provide such ads will even consider running them here.
