Re: Hawaii, the move
I think the final plans are starting to fall into place, we will be shipping our cargo from MOM central to Hilo Hi, and leave Rupert with Talula for a week or two, Patt and I will be driving to Calif and drop the truck off in Oakland to be shipped. The cost for 300 cuft of goods is $2400 door to door and a $1000 for the truck from Oakland to port Hilo. This was the best deal I have found and grabbed it. I was looking at used cars/trucks and there really is nothing to speak of and from a dealer it was several thousand dollars more, so the Truck goes and we will now drive cross country in winter for joy.
This will allow me to see my other two sons Matt and John and be able to take to John a bunch of his stuff. It will also allow us to visit Jesus on the way out.
So it looks like we will be leaving about the 21st of Jan for the coast, I will turn in the truck on the 31st of Jan as they need a few days to load and get it to the dock it will be shipped the 6th of Feb arriving about the 21st. So I will need to rent a car for a couple weeks when I get there. I will also rent a car for the weekend before we leave and try to find some place to watch the Super Bowl.
All in all its starting to shape up, I got the two shipping crates today for Nelly and Rupert yes they must be a correct type and size, the airlines are very specific about this.
So we will be flying to Honolulu on the 3rd of Feb morning flight arriving about 1pm, then to the intake vet to get Nelly cleared, then back to the airport and fly on to Hilo later in the afternoon. We wont get to Hilo until after 7pm and we will most likely just spend the night in a motel that night.
Pinch me, its really happening.

Tickets bought, arrive in Hilo at 5:30pm, rent a car, buy some stuff head for home which is about 40 minutes south of Hilo.

I am not sure which route we will take, the weather will be the deciding factor. One of the routes that is an option is through Colorado however neither Patt or I smoke and that included pot.

Thank you fhunter,
I have been packing boxes all day, building a staging area.
Moving is a pain.

You know, you could just leave some of that "stuff" behind.
wink, wink, wink
drop it over the side of the boat and let it sink...
chuckle
Put a tiny parachute on it with a note to return to MOI or how about Bob in NJ. I mean I hate to name drop but that's funny.
