The Americas Cup competition is going on between
the Kiwis and America, defending its' hold on the cup.
The Kiwis are ahead in the series but the Americans won today because I was watching.
Already behind a bit the Kiwis almost flipped their boat when some hydrolic didn't work.
I do miss the old mono hull Americas Cup.
There is something about trimming a keel, a keel with dynamic action I find NOT Kosher to sailing.
And a boat almost flipping because of a hydraulic failure <sigh>
It's called "Line", NOT "Rope".

And this relates to football how?

Okay, back on subject. It is game day and the game I am most looking forward to is Denver vs. NY. I really like Peyton and Wes Welker, but the Giants are pretty much my home town team so my loyalties are split.

Yes I agree that is a game I wish to see along with the 49ers and Seattle. The game I wont care about but have no choice is the Vikings sigh.

The only half time show is the super bowl, so its not about the half time show.

No half time show? There is ALWAYS a half time show. The teams will break and go to the dressing rooms.
They always have these breaks at every game. They are NOT broadcast on TV in H.S. and College games, usually. Unless there is some reason. I have been to many of them, not just on television. Although television gives you better images it is jut not like being there. There are so many things to watch in addition to the game. There are the people, fans, the bench, the coaches, the news booth, just so many things. It is never just about the game, it is ALWAYS about the people, however. there is nothing like a cool, fall evening and a football game, watching couples cuddle under blankets and then jump up screaming to support their team. I used to do it. That and play in the band from time to time.
There are ALWAYS things to watch in addition to the main event. Sometimes they are even more interesting.
I apologize if I am irritating you guys. That is not my intention.

As I said earlier, not much of a stick and ball fan but the NASCAR race was in a several hour rain delay so I watched the last quarter of the Bears/Vikings game. Pretty exciting. Sympathies to the MoM attendees I met last month who are from the twin cities area.

You live and cheer for the wrong team living in Minnesota, now Wisconsin has a team that may make the playoffs, same with California and Colorado but not Minnesota, sorry.
But look on the bright side, there is Sleepy Hollow you can watch.

Power polls came out today. Happy to see the Dolphins are finally starting to get a bit of respect. I couldn't believe they were underdogs to the Browns in week 1.
I don't really keep up with the Vikings as much, friend is a Vikings fan though. Are they just a QB away from contending or do they have more issues than that?

I have lived up here for 10 years, and they have always been at least on QB away, or a coach, or a defensive lineman, or
and 10 years from now, they will be one..... (fill in the blank) away from a championship team for sure.
But
That new stadium that the tax payers flipped the bill for, so that billionaire owner and those million dollar players will have a nice place to play but those tax payers wont be able to buy a seat because they don't make enough money, I think its those taxes they payed for that stadium
and they still wont have a team that can win.
but
They will finally be out of the 'roller dome', named by Mike (I love Chicago) Ditka.

I know what you mean... I know what you mean...
There's all sorts of baseball excitement that the Pirates are near a playoff spot for the first time in 20 year.
I refuse to get excited. I have great faith that they'll blow it.
And I'm a big fan, too...
Football's worse around here. There's always some controversy that's nothing but hype...
Hockey is the the giant outhouse because they have so many fantastic players and yet they suddenly drop dead on the ice.
