Re: Death Wish Coffee
Coffee is indispensable on riverboats. If the supply of petroleum is interrupted some substitute will be found but if there is no coffee, nothing moves. My mother made coffee that was wonderful for waking you in the morning; it would get up out of the cup and slap you repeatedly until you wrestled it into submission. --FLO--

Re: Death Wish Coffee
Even a couple table spoons of yesterday's coffee still in the cup is soooo
pleasurable in my early day gloom of "stuck in a physical existence not of my choosing". I teach anyone I live with, not to wash that cup. Then when I begin to make peace that I am stuck in a physical existence not of my choosing for another day - I make fresh coffee saving a sip for the next day.
I have had coffee since I was a kid. First lots of milk and a little coffee then changing proportions over life. Today I make my Don Francisco Hawaiian Blend with 5 scoops for a tad over 3 scoops called for.
One package Equal and a little sugar with the grounds in the Mr. Coffee basket.
On a similar note there was an interview with Brad Pitt who said when he is on parent duty,
he wakes the kids up with a glass of coca cola. I like it.

Re: Death Wish Coffee
There are many historians who say that coffee was the real fuel for the Industrial Revolution. Since the water supplies were questionable in Europe after the decline of the Roman Empire, people became used to drinking beer, ale, and wine as their regular source of liquid. Most of the population was semi-contentedly half-plastered the majority of the time. The availability of coffee came to Europe and England just in time to sober up the population enough to work in the factories.
