Universal Studio 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

Moi, on this one you are wrong.

In all fairness to Moi, Universal studios also boarders Barham Blvd, its the back door.

In fairness to everybody else, the distance between where Moi and I are talking about is across the street. They boarder each other.

However Hollywood is next to LA, Universal studio is in SFV there is a small mountain range between the two, look at it on google earth.

They just switched the front door and back door around since the fifties when I witnessed rows of crucifixions for the filming of Spartacus I think, and the occasional stagecoach chase from Valley View Elementary school. as the Hollywood Freeway was laid between.

And before that I believe it was Al Jolson's estate.

BTW Chuanga Pass was the site of one of the last battle in California in the Mexican American War.

You know the topography. Must have been a melee. Eh?

That was the back lot, the very back, the entrance to the studio was on Lankershim blvd the other side from where you speak about a mile and a half on the other side. 😄 that was from the 40', 50' 60' 70' 80' and then when they realized they could make more money with it being a theme park they moved the entrance to the south side around the corner to Universal drive. Moi, where your talking about is now a track of houses. You really need to bring up google earth and look at the area because you could not be more wrong it you tried. 🔨

You are funny you know that.

AND MOI, if you say you were born and raised across the street just off Barham Blvd, then you too were born NOT IN HOLLYWOODLAND but in the Valley just like me, welcome to Oklahoma.🍑👋

3426 North Knoll Drive where Lindo ends at N. Knoll Dr.

Hollywood, Calif. 90028

Age 6 to 16

'54-'64

I use to take the bus to Lankershim Blvd. somewhere for my orthodontics over many years.

Did you ever hike up to the "cross" or around the Hollywood Reservoir or up Chuanga Peak we use to call Black Foot.

Map it.

It was the Hollywood Hills, NOT "the Valley". That took some descending down the pass.

And I do hope this thread makes it to the second episode of Revolution 😄

Although I realize this thread has devolved into something other than a discussion about the TV program, I actually finished watching it today, and I liked it OK.

Moi, you need to look at Google earth, while your at it look at the elevation of Universal studio, you may not have been in the valley but Universal sure as hell was valley boy. That is why its called Universal City, not Hollywood, not Hollywood hills which is the hills around and separates Hollywood from the VALLEY where Universal Studio is located.

You know everybody else looking at this thread is laughing, they have been to Google earth and are seeing the same thing I am, remember I lived on the other side of Universal City, were the entrance is.

Moi YOU may have lived in the foothills, but you were looking at the valley not Hollywood.

Actually, we were looking at a grove of Eucalyptus planted as an aboritum to display various species.

You can still see it on Google Earth, Corner of Lindo and North Knoll Dr. 90028

90028 = Hollywood. If the trees were not there I would guess we were facing Beautiful Downtown Burbank

and the NBC studios. Remember, Tuluca Mart? When the airport was Lockheed. Miniature Golf and Bob's Big Boy.

Moi

Hollywood High until I transferred out.

It wasn't "the Valley". Hollywood Hills
