Remember in the Bible, God says "I am that I am"? In other words, I exist and my purpose is to continue to exist. Well, the rest of us are the same. A blade of grass does all that it can to keep on living. So do bacteria, tree frogs, and people. Talking about "meaning" is actually an error caused by bad syntax - a grammatical fiction. "Meaning" suggests that something is justified by something else outside itself, e.g., that humanity serves the gods' purpose. The truth is that we are what we are, and seeking external justification - "meaning" - is just kicking the can down the road. Saying that we serve the Gods invites the question of whom the Gods serve, and so to infinity. That's not an answer; it's an evasion. Since "I am that I am," I can only say that my continuation is of great importance to me, and that I will do all I can to continue forever, if possible. This may serve no one else's purpose, and certainly no higher purpose, but if most people feel that way, it raises the survival prospects of the species. Life which wishes to continue is most likely to be able to continue, and if there's no God, there are at least the imperatives of our DNA. So if you ain't eatin' it, pass me that pork chop, motherfuckers.

I doubt that.
Will you keep a promise to the Board to limit your carbohydrate intake to 60 grams a day as would do the most for Bob3 Ex-BFF in particular, to "continue forever"?
Choice:
Live well or Live Long
New Orleans or Seattle?
Personally, I refuse preventive medicine, I will get treated if I get sick, but not for terminal illness.
I do not want to "hang on" as a Diabetic like so much of my family. So my minimum is carbohydrate consciousness. Hell with exercise. Only makes you feel better, not live longer.
But, carbohydrate consciousness does make you live longer. Although every bite of candy and bread haunts you.

FREEDOM !
Bring saturated fat and whole milk back to school lunch programs. Beware the Carbs.

But you see, I want to be treated like a human being, I want not to be judged before I've said a few lines, so I extend how I wish to be treated, to how I treat others. I don't make assumptions and ignore incoming messages. I try to give everyone a fair chance to strike up a conversation. Is that wrong? Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you. That is all I am trying to do.
You know? You can't change what other people think, say or do!!!
And it's wasted effort, to try.
I think you may be shooting way too high in hoping not to be judged and to be treated like a human. But judgements only have meaning if you allow them to.

I don't hope not the be judged. I hope to be judged on the right things. I think I'll continue doing unto others as I wish to be done unto.

So can't a LONG life also be considered a very, very slow death? Especially in light of the fact that living too fast is in fact a suicide dying too slow.

That's having a long productive life with little or no illness and then you lie down to take a nap and die in your sleep,

The problem is: "What is a long life?" Same with "slow" or "fast". They are all relative terms. Compared to the age of the universe, whether or not I live to be 50 or 100 years old is of little significance. I just don't get why it's so important to forsake all of our instinctual desires (the seven deadly sins), to live longer? What does one get from living longer? And if heaven is so great, why is no one in a hurry to get there and if they are, they are deemed insane?
I used to know this lady who was a health food nut. She was all about exercise, yoga, vegan, and had a very upbeat attitude. A person that genuinely appeared to be a happy person. Super friendly, kind hearted and for a woman in her mid fifties, had a rather nice figure. I was proud to call her a friend, but I wondered if giving up all food that tastes good and never sleeping in, but instead getting up every morning for a ten mile bike ride, and other benefits of being lazy, was really worth it to just live longer?
She died suddenly of a brain aneurism at 55. Her husband became one of those guys who hangs out at young singles bars and has a never ending parade of young girls he has sex with, since he is a successful business man, not to mention the $500,000 in insurance he collected.
Now, you don't need to come back at me with the "numbers", which say that if you eat healthy and exercise you will live longer. I get that. I am just saying that there are no guarantees. No "do-overs". This is not a dress rehearsal. It's life happening. I just don't want to waste my "right now" worrying about some tomorrow that may never get here. So that makes me wonder if someone knows something I don't? Like, why is it so important to try to live longer?

You are hoping to be judged through your own version of what the "truth" is. Only problem is, there is no universal truth. We all have our own truth and it's the only one that matters.

Its a crap shoot at best, you can do things that might help you live longer, however in the end you will die.
George Burns smoked 5 cigars a day until the day he died at 100.
Jack Lalanne was into fitness and exercise and eating right and lived to be 96.
My Grandfather chewed tobacco his whole life, died at 97.
My brother smoked and died at 50.
Life is what you make of it, enjoy it and don't worry about death, when your time comes you will die as nobody gets out of this alive.
except me, I plan on living forever.
