Don't forget to watch "Giant (1956)" too.

;)

Remember, if you can't find work in Texas, you ain't looking. I just heard that one.

The "Salt Lick BBQ" south of Austin may be built near such a geologic feature.

It is particularly fun on Sunday's when they have BBQ beef ribs. I think it seats around 1000 and there

is often a 1-2 hour wait.

Central Texas is the nirvana of Texas BBQ. Other great places would certainly include Louie Muellers in

Taylor, just north of Austin. And any of these

A "salt lick" can also be just a block of salt set out for cows or other animals.

While in Austin go to "Central Market", a great grocery store.

You can skinny dip at "Hippy Hollow" if there's water, or wear your suit to Barton Springs.

Ohh see Salt Lick reminded me of deer for some reason. Well I can't wait. And I'm being picked up at Bergstrom. I think first thing we'll do is decide where to go party for NYE.

REMEMBER,

when you read a headline "BAYLOR WINS SHOOTOUT AT ALAMO BOWL" that it refers to something other than the historical defeat of Texans by President General Antonio López de Santa Anna...

It refers to the REAL (damnit I said REAL) football.

winkie, winkie,

giggle, giggle

(Go enjoy your trip. Have fun and see the sights, even the touristy sights, take lots of pictures, too)

I will, when I am not busy giving someone lovebites. ^^

Northern USA gets 2 thumbs up from me. It's been nothing but enjoyable. In fact, it's kinda like London, cept people are a bit more chatty and friendly. I get more people telling me they like my hat/bag/shoes than in London.

Oh hmm don't think we'd make it up to North Texas. How many hours would it be by car?

So I've been to the Salt Lick BBQ today. It was every bit as good as its reputation said it would be. Also, I'm having lots of fun with my friend and hopefully girlfriend-to-be ^^

The food was great. I don't eat beef but the pork ribs, sausage and turkey were all just excellent. Not to mention the bread has been the softest and yummiest I've had in a good while, even including the stuff I get in the UK. The colesaw was wonderful too. And the company was excellent.

We rang in the new year with a kiss. I'm so in love with this girl. We have so many similiarities and interests that I'm calling her my good twin(I'm her evil twin of course). =)

Seems a yearly trip to Texas may be the norm for me in the next couple of years.
