A dozen stories a year out of 2 billion people doesn't make something common. But it is just the effect of modern media. It is like how you hear about all these female teachers now who sexually abuse students in the US, there is a story almost every week. However, if you do the math it is something like one in every 500000 teachers doing something like that. Something on the news once per week does not actually mean it is common, but it sure seems like that.

However, I will say that while the overall act is still pretty uncommon, Vietnam and Thailand do seem to have the larger share of the stories. They are still very ra

Thailand is a world leader in Penis reattachment surgery.

The advanced surgical techniques goes along with the demand. 💡

Maybe if it were true of Denmark it would be more PC. And Denmark would no longer be the Canada of Europe.

Maybe, but can you be sure your local news agencies get each and every unusual injury that happens in your city? Can you say with any certainty you don't hear about it in your area because it does not happen, rather than simply because it doesn't make the news?

Sorry. It's probably just paid more attention to in the first place because people have a biased impression that in Vietnam and Thailand, this happens all the time. In fact, I wasn't even aware Vietnam also has such an undeserved reputation, Thailand maybe, but this is the first I've heard Vietnam tarred with the same brush.

I'm guessing up to the point this lady from vietnam did this, nobody's actually associated vietnam with such a reputation.

See how the media unfairly skews us, and how gullible most of you(in a general sense, you know who you are) are especially when it comes to a subject that happens to also be your fetish. Suddenly you don't stop to think about whether what you are assuming is true or not and jump into a frantic discussion about it, possibly while beating off. =P
