You obviously like presence on the road. Have a look at Duesenburg there is little to touch them for presence. Long,long front end. Coachbuilt, total class.

It would not be right to have a beautiful car thread and not mention the Hispano Suiza. Even the name is nice to say!! The brand has had a long history and there are models from the early days of classic motoring up to modern day Lambo look alikes (that even car enthusiasts fail to identify). Probably the most well known vehicle is the tulip wood body touring classic and the streamliner. http://www.thoroughbred-cars.com/cars/s ... orpedo.htm. You can see one tulip wood car here and see a close up of the construction method. Thousands of brass rivits holding the wood strips in place.

Let us not forget one of the most iconic cars of the 80's. They weren't all that well-built, they had plenty of flaws and defects, and the company went bankrupt under somewhat shady circumstances....

Still, how many people can deny wanting a DeLorean DMC-12 at some point in their lives? (Ok, perhaps one rigged with a flux capacitor, but still....)

I have to admit that I am cheating. I took son to one of the auto auctions/shows in Scottsdale, AZ today. Here are some I noted with this thread in mind.

The first was a 1954 Kaiser-Darrin convertable. There is something about it that just makes me want to look at it.

One I also think of painting pink for my daughter is a 1955 Citroen 2CV. It just makes me smile. We were standing there looking at it and there were two guys next to us discussing it. They agreed that it made them smile. But one also said that, "There is the difference between French and German engineering."
