Ouch, feels like a truck ran over my hip. All I did was walk four blocks total to the pharmacy and the grocery. It must be one of the joys of getting old.

Get A cane (make sure it is the right size). It makes a huge difference. --FLO--

Yeah, I am younger than you and I use a cane at times. Not all the time, but every once in a while I need to use one.

My landlord said he'll try to make the fence more secure.
Talk to the police about it? :/

I'm 6' 2" tall - would a 36 inch cane be the right size?

Height of bent arm hanging at side to ground. There are many adjustable canes available for about $25.00

My dad brandished one for many years, and got excellent results.
Done right, a cane contributes greatly to a sense of style; thought should also go to the right hat to complement.
-and it does help with the walking too!

Not the hat, the cane. I've screwed up the English grammar, I think. Again.
Reminds me of another association catastrophe:
Caesar entered on his head
his helmet on his foot
a sandal in his hand he had
his trusty sword to boot.
Or with commas:
Caesar entered, on his head his helmet, on his foot a sandal, in his hand he had his trusty sword, to boot.

Mr. Wolf, search for "what is the proper height for a cane". There is a lot of information available. Also, if you see a physical therapist they can help you choose and use a cane. --FLO--

A store that sells canes and other home care products will have trained people to fit you with a cane and instruct you on how to use it. Let the folks who work their train and fit you. Do not just pick one and go to the cashier they will assume you know what you are doing.
