Sunny with heat index of 96F today. Rain expected tonight/tomorrow AGAIN! Low of 64. These 30 degree temperature swings every day are playing hell with my sinuses and ears!

Moi will interested to know that in reclaiming a former garden spot, I found a lost gooseberry plant and rescued it. It has the small green berries, which turn maroon when ripe. It's the last one of the patch that "got lost". I am hoping it is old enough of an heirloom to reproduce by seed.

Meanwhile, I am ripping out Ostrich Fern and classic hosta like weeds. I expect to find lost children in there before it's over! Maybe a car?

Pls let me know if you find a Pontiac Aztek concept car (it is always possible assuming your neighborhood doesn't have CC and Rs).

Nice find Paolo. Hope it berries for you.

My boysenberries are beginning to get dark, some red ones and lots of green ones.

The bird net works for people too.

It's in a parkway

Just sort of 60's here with occasional threats of light rain.

Hardly a California month of May.

The News reports rabid heat in the south east.

Cold from the West and where they meet is

Storm Country from Arkansas to Minnesota. Marching eastwards.

Rain. Tornadoes.

And no one on Board shares their weatherful experiences. :(

CBS News continues to broadcast the weatherfulness

from Texas to Minnesota @Kristoff land, moving eastward and - -

the Atlantic Storm contribution placing @Dave of Pittsburgh is a dark, orange zone.

No zone darker than a dark, orange zone.

And no one effected shares.

Just another day of high sixties, partial clouds in La La Land.

Ate a dark, purple boysenberry today.

BTW - it's "affected"

And the storms went north of Pittsburgh. I live south, it was pleasant and sunny all day. There is a chance of rain this afternoon.

This one has the small green smooth berries that turn maroon when ripe. We have a wild variety here, larger fruits, but very spiny. Fortunately, the spines are soft and rubbery.

The volunteer apple trees here were loaded with blooms this year, as were the peach trees. They're the purple leaf variety, heavily flowering, and the golf ball size fruits were just a bonus. Tart and white flesh inside, and very prolific and fast growing.

The old yellow June apple tree from 1940 or so is on her last leg, or branch. I expect this will be the last year for her.

Our spring finally seems over. Feels hot but the numbers are nothing compared to August. Still, there is enough heat to drive the towering cumulus clouds which make our sky so dramatic.

Found it interesting when in San Tan Valley that the temps never got above 85. I know that's changed by now but was an interesting May to say the least. And of course at the place in Cochise County a couple weeks ago I still needed heat at night. But then again it's above 4000 ft

You need to clean some of your inbox so I may reply to your note.

The Spirits of Precipitation might then look more kindly on you.

20+ degrees cooler here with gray and barely an hour of partial sun.

The Boysenberries are so nearly ripe but just lack for a little sun and heat.
