Paolo wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2013 8:09 am The swimsuits and summer attire are out here in stores, as is the mulch, etc.
The winter products have all been put up in the back room.
Looks like I'll be looking into cold weather crops?
The local weather guesser said the other night that "this time last March, it was sunny and 77F".
The warmest March ever...global weirding, I guess.
Look what last March warm and April cold temperatures did to the fruit and cherry blossoms.
As for swim suits in March - I can remember when you could get clothing when in season (not 4 - 5 months ahead of season).
In southern Michigan we have had below average snowfall for last winter (2011-2012) and so far for this winter (2012-2013). That is after well above average for (2007-2008) and (2008-2009); and about average for the winters in between (2009-2010) and (2010-2011).

What qualifies as a "snow"?
I say visual evidence for at least three days like I saw in Milwaukee.
Something that requires Snow Plows and shoveling.
And if it does occur - I Did Not Create It. I Am Just An Oracle Of Ghia
Please reconsider. Don't shoot the messenger.
I do believe the current storm is taking a swing at Paolo country if I got me bearings.
Moi
EA's Oracle.
See a little "Joseph" in my name
Seriously, I am known to suffer clairvoyant episodes.
You'd be better off with DOPPLER RADAR... I suffer from Doppler radar sites... HERE, Try one...

There is over 3 ft of snow out my back porch, my dog goes out and up the snow bank to pee.
So start worrying Moi, if it snows and adds to what we already have in April you will be gone until the snow is.

MOI,
What do you think happens around here when it snows?

No one pees their pink tutu's and runs clutching hankies to beg real men with snow plows.

We grab a beer, pour it into a skull mug, crush the glass on our foreheads and go to the shed to yank the rope on the snowplow and blow the snow into the neighbor's driveway.

NBC makes it look like half the nation froze and was unprepared.
More then 600 flights cancelled.
From Denver to the New Jersey coast and Washington D.C. too - SNOW.
Slushy, cold, wet, traffic jamming, SNOW.
Got Global Warming? Y'know where to send it
I know around November/December it is a welcome change of seasons.
I also know by February - it is becoming pretty unwelcome.

I got three inches of very wet snow that by 4 in the afternoon had melted in the tire tracks on the driveway (In fact, a small van of cleaning ladies up my driveway.) Tonight, ONE inch of slushy stuff was left... They said the snow on the roads melted and it was only wet.
The heavy snow went to the mountains east of Pittsburgh and south in West Virginia. It always does.

Normally Jan and Feb are the worst months of the year, colder and more snow its unusual for it to still be snowing like this through March. However with the sun higher in the sky the zero temp at night is getting into the high 30s during the day so the snow is melting fast.
I still have three feet of the stuff out my front and back doors.
Look up the expected effects of global warming, this weather pattern fits.

And I have 3-4 inches of water, slush, and ice in my garage. Of course, back in 1953, when it was built, the dfamned idiot did it at the bottom of an incline. Damned mess. Worst winter I've had with this.
