Last year was the same although that Autumn Smell was just never there.

Then when calendar Autumn hit, it became HOT, DRY, HOT, did I say HOT

that lasted to X-Mas time. Then it cooled but, stayed dry.

The marine layer has returned making the air feel "soft".

The little Peter's Honey Fig tree produced like gangbusters and the Japanese beetles love the fruit too.

Preparing areas to plant Saffron crocus bulbs.

One of the two cats sure loves catnip, the other can take it or leave it.

I learned the attraction is not universal among house cats and is genetic.

I'm up in Baltimore. This past weekend we had some tropical system that dumped a bunch of rain on the region, coupled with odd New Moon high tides & a strong easterly wind that pushed water up the Chesapeake bay and caused some flooding. Needless to say the ground is pretty soaked here. It looked like the storm was headed my way for a while, so I stocked up. Now it appears like its's headed towards the south. We're just supposed to get humidity and some rain here now, which is basically normal weather for Baltimore.

Is Baltimore wet enough?

NO flooding as the news seems to restrict it to the Carolinas.

Weather here is same, same.

High seventies and mid sixties at night.

Hoping for flannel shirt weather.

What a glorious day. Maria is passing thru. Yesterday was so NW coast. Overcast, rainy and dismal. Today dawned with crystal blue skies and grass looking radiantly green. By midday the moisture was beginning to form dramatic towering cumulus clouds against the blue. Dramatic, monsoon-like skies that I love. I want to applaud.

False news. I meant Rosa.

Rosa deserves forgetting.

Just some stagnant, thickly humid air that felt hot although was low seventies.

No rain. No drizzle.

The Rain A Zilla they kept hyping between the northern storm and Rosa never happened.

Bad because people are going to get numb over a real threat of flash flooding.

First Autumn in 3 years.

I did get an unmeasurable, trace of rain and the air is clean. Clouds too. Not just haze or marine layer.

Too bad we have no members to report from the east coast flooding events.

Not even Dave, being the closest.

What to talk about if we don't have the weather? :-\

Best Autumn in 3 years.

For a while, summer lasted to T'giving.

But, there was a lack of that feeling of Autumn or Winter.

Now,

Blue sky. Fresh, cool, crisp air. Puffy white clouds.

Possible drizzle Saturday.

Then "they" say it all ends with a ten degree jump in temperature

and probably that dry, dry air.

Had a little sprinkle late this afternoon

then lightening storms on 3 sides of me for hours.

Now it rains. Not drizzle. Not sprinkle. RAIN

Rain that was not forecast on "their" predictions and future Doppler.

I tired counting from lightening to thunder but, the thunder is a sustained roar,

not a clap. Hard to know what lightening it belongs too.

Happy Rain Y'all.
