It's now a girl? NO, you are now a girl on the outside as well as on the inside. Catheter, eh? I knew you would find a way to stay away from work for another couple of weeks. Seriously, you have gone through a lot and I am very happy that you have made it to this point. A drawback, yes, but think of how close you are now and how gratifying the result will be. All the best, --FLO--

Hi Everyone,

Well I'm doing a little bit better today. I spoke with Marci this morning and being much more coherent today, I was able to get some more accurate information regarding my urinary track. The long and short of it is that we are going to clamp off the catheter on Thursday and allow my bladder to fill at which time we will see if I can pee on my own. If I can we will then cut the bag and tube off of it just leaving a small section of the tube extending from me so that we can keep a clamp on it. This short section of tube will allow the urologists to access to my bladder in order to insert a balloon into my urinary track and stretch it a bit.

I already have a call into the urologist that I was refereed to back home and hope to hear back from him on Monday. I want to set up an appointment as soon as I get home.

I actually got to eat real food today and I was pleasantly surprised, the food is pretty good here. Been keeping the pain meds coming as well as the ice packs between my legs. I had a little leakage from my catheter last night which caused the nurses to change my gown and bed linens. I was a bit concerned about having to roll in bed for them, but surprisingly I was able to do it without much pain or discomfort.

By the way, if anyone would like to contact me in the hospital, I'm Room No. 115, Bed #1.

I'll try to keep everyone posted on my progress.

Congratulations girl. I am so proud of you and Danya for the stands that you have taken. Yes, I understand Urethral Strictures as explained in private cover. I have had them as a problem too in live. You will get over it.

Hi Erica,

I am glad you're doing a little better today. The tone of your post reflects this. You are already taking charge of your situation by leaving a message for the doctor back home.

The news from Dr. Bowers doesn't sound nearly as bleak, to me, today. Whatever the situation is, I know you can handle it. Soon enough, all the complication-related stuff will be no more than a memory and you can move on.

I will call you tomorrow as promised.

Hugs,

Danya

Hi Everyone,

It's Sunday morning and I just got back from my first walk up and down the hallway. They removed my compression hosiery and my external bandages. My spouse was standing at the end of the bed when they removed the bandages and I saw her eyes light up and a big smile come across her face when she saw "my new equipment." She was walking next to me as I went down the hallway and I asked what the smile was about. She responded, "it looks great."

Didn't sleep real well last night. My room mate woke me up at 5 AM. OMG this girl has to learn to sleep a little later in the morning.

Going to take another walk this afternoon and see if I can make it a little further. :)
