Moved to Eagle Mountain or Desert Center, Moi? Lots o windblown seeds and cheap housing.

Just back from Christmas trek to Kansas. Amazing the change from Tucumcari west and east, especially coming back. Texas, Oklahoma and southern Kansas had humid cold that would freeze beer. Driving back, it was actually no coat weather from Santa Rosa west. Temps began about 39 and ended in 60s.

I prefer the desert by the sea.

Mid coastal Orange County, California.

I do miss storms. They can be fun if you can stay home, warm and dry. With electricity, cable working, and stocked with food.

The morning after an ice storm in Milwaukee was one of the prettiest sites I have seen. Crystalline ice hanging everywhere sparkling in the sun with a clear cold sky.

The result of an ice storm may be beautiful to see, but such result left many in the dark without electricity for over a week at Christmas time here in Michigan in 2013.

20 minutes north or Milwaukee along the shoreline is Mequon.

There were open fields as one approached Mequon, I understand it is all suburban sprawl now.

Off the freeway at Mequon Rd., drive east towards the lake and there was an 80 year old farm house I use to own.

2 story and basement. No real garage. More of a one small car shed.

One morning I looked out the front door after an ice storm and was dazzled.

Bright blue sky and the crystalline ice hanging everywhere. Really a wonder to see and remember.

But, getting caught in Freezing Rain while driving on the freeway is no fun.

To be warm, dry, secure and experience a great storm has always been enjoyable to me.

When we have a "Great Rain" I like to be by the ocean

It ain't like I'm wishing storm damage or inconvenience to anyone,

although with the great chill from the E.A. :hearthrobLand to Dave in Pennsylvania and Ernie in Maine

and no one shares, is disappointing.

The one storm I do not appreciate is hot, dry, Santa Ana winds. If that counts as a storm.

We know Jesus doesn't appreciate Fire Storms. I last saw one in the eighties.

It came from Laguna Beach and up the mountains into Irvine. I saw the fire from my condo on a bluff and it was like a line of fire soldiers marching over the crest of the ridgeline and down the other side. Some neighbors were moving out. I watched having faith it would have to cross to many roads, irrigated green areas, other homes and

to get to me. It was stooped before any structures caught fire. Memorable but about as enjoyable as a Santa Ana Wind storm.

Does anyone wish to dispute the sight after an ice storm isn't one of extreme beauty, and why.

No word on thaw time for their web to be up.

Got up to 70 but down to 60 now. That's above zero for those in the northern Midwest :D

Lots of fog came in tonight with a fog alert until 9 AM tomorrow.

Rain is "promised" for Monday and Tuesday with Weds. disputable.

The Sweet Shelling Peas are about an inch long now.

California is now a Recreational 🚬 State. Hurrah!

It's god-damned cold here. Lows at night are below zero, daytime highs are single digits. Then there's the wind to deal with.

It's making the general public really crabby, too.

And for those of us who don't take off the hoodie until it's 80F outside, it's a real pain in the ass.

Now add the fact that some nice, shitty winter mix weather is heading in tonight.

The highs here have been below zero, not too unusual for this area. --FLO--

Moi being in an ice storm and working an ice storm are very different. Driving in an ice storm is bad you need to look out for other divers and maintain control of your driving. However working an ice storm you are in it. You get wet ice forms on your clothes and your cold. I could go on.

I live in Washington State. it was 45F here today, and a little damp. perhaps anyone looking for relief from snow measured in feet should consider Seattle and the surrounding areas as better places to avoid the weather...
