I've had about all the gray, rainy weather I can take. Six days in a row of rain, one sunny but cool day, and now back to gray and rain again.

What kind of beans for home sprouted bean sprouts for this purpose?

I imagine bean sprouts as expensive and fast to wither.

16 squirrels seems too many although I took them about a mile away and released them in a wild life preserve.

I figured they figured how to return. I considered food coloring in a water pistol as a means of tagging to see if it was true but instead I move them across the water so they will have to figure out a bridge to get "home".

I have never had such a good crop of sweet shelling peas.

I am amazed at the return of rabbits to my side of the n'hood and squirrels too, besides a rare sighting.

We have coyotes. Why aren't they doing their job? 😠

They say it is gonna rain this weekend.

Anyone need some surplus water? Bring your own bucket. :D

He kept taking food outside, and saying he was feeding the kitty. He was about 3. Finally, we told him to go and get Kitty, as we'd never seen it. He came back hauling a very old, nasty skunk! Apparently, this skunk had it figured out, that kids had food and weren't a threat.

We use to get skunk visits but, it hasn't happened for some time. That is why I am surprised at the squirrel and rabbit repopulation.

We also use to get opossum but, I haven't seen one for ages. Racoons are usual but they seem to dislike my electric garden fence.

And coyotes to clean out the stupid ones, cats and dogs too.

I got peas needing eating or drying I guess.

Rain in the forecast. Stay tuned.

I have skunks and moles -- they leave divot style holes in my yard looking for grubs.

I will get rid of the divots by killing the grubs. The rest of the critters will move to better feeding grounds.

BTW - I live next to a 3000 acre county park so the critters have lots of better feeding grounds.

Rain in May!

Not the light pitter patter we had all season here but, cloud bursts dropping 1/2 inch over a few hours.

There was snow in the mountains and along the "Grapevine" too. The clouds have been beautiful. Some pretty strong winds associated with it.

Today is cool, mid sixties, and crisp with mostly clear skies and a sweet smell in the air.

Picked a ton of Sweet Shelling Peas yesterday and the vines are getting their aging mildew covered leaves.

They never last until June. They no longer flower and the last pods are ripening.

Boysenberries are ripening and a few Blueberries are ripe.

No squirrels lately.

Maybe moving that one across the water was the key to a return offender.

The trap had 2 week old peanut butter and I was thinking of bringing it in then -

Squirrel #17. Successfully relocated to the other side of the water where the

San Diego Creek flows into Back Bay, Newport Beach. A nice wild life preserve where

I'm sure they are as happy as the dog relocated to the proverbial farm.

The pea plants were taken down and the remaining peas harvested.

What a load, of peas I mean. I never had so much. I'm gonna try fava beans I bought fresh

from the Middle Eastern market. Big, green, lima bean looking things. Yummy.

The air is cool and crisp with winds and temperatures barely 70F. Clear skies.

Finally saw a California fence lizard again after several days of absence.

Squirrel #18 has been translocated to the other side of the water.

How many can there be? I live in suburbia.

A cute little bunny rabbit ran across the street as I came into my front yard this morning.

One is cute. A dozen is . . 😠

Climate the same. High 60's with occasional gray skies and wind.

Clean sweet air.

Why won't my spinach sprout? I mix 4 seeds and plant, none sprout.
