I experienced much the same, with monitoring by ultrasound of my second nut, which was surgically removed 10 months later. Best wishes.

I tried to push for them to remove both testicles during the operation, but they don't want to do that unless absolutely medically necessary. I can only hope that when they see the state of them during the operation that they change their mind and decide to take them both out instead.

If cancer is suspected, why would they do a biopsy and risk introducing cancer cells into the rest of the body? I don’t think that this is normal practice for diagnosing possible testicular cancer.

Its good that you have got the surgery sorted. If they don't do the 2nd one this time you will probably be called in for a follow up exam in a few months time. which should give you a bit of time to ruin the remaining one.

It is very unusual according to my urologist to do a biopsy for cancer where the risk exists for cancer to be present based on an ultrasound or Ct scan. It was that risk of cancer that made my urologist recommend testicle removal given a mass in my right nut, with testing for cancer of the nut upon removal. It tested pre-cancerous cells only.

The risk of cancer also meant recommended monitoring of my left nut instead of a biopsy, although the ultrasound showed it was in poor condition. It too was surgically removed 10 months after the right was removed. Post-removal testing showed no cancer or pre-cancerous cells present. A subsequent CT scan and chest x-ray showed no cancer in my body.

I have had five injections of high proof alcohol thus far into my right nut. Each injection has been between 2.5 and 3 cc's and the alcohol is 94%. I'm excited that I'm noticing some hard parts and there is less sensation. I have heard of many people's becoming much smaller and shrinking up. I'm wondering when I can expect my nut to start to do that. I'm getting my sixth injection next Wednesday.

Don't know, but in my case a lump resulted in losing the nut. Nobody wanted to go poking the skunk.

An unrelated medical adventure cost the other soon after the lump. Again there was no reason to go poking it.

I thought it was about time to update you all on my progress - I won't go into too much detail or timeframes incase anybody I know ever stumbles across this thread and puts 2 and 2 together... (highly unlikely I know)

So, I went to my GP with sore, hard-lumpy testicles. He sent me for an ultrasound and when he saw the results, referred me to urologist. Urologist sent me for CT scan and after seeing the results of that, he removed the most badly damaged testicle via the inguinal canal (he decided not to biopsy the other one at the same time as he felt it was very unlikely to be a different problem affecting each one). I'm left with a 10cm scar from where he took it out, and JESUS CHRIST did that hurt for a couple of weeks while it was healing up! No pain inside the scrotum from where the testicle was removed which surprised me a bit.

The hospital did tests on the removed testicle and then sent it to the regional cancer specialist center for tests - neither of them could say "Yes, it was cancer" or "No, it wasn't cancer" as the cells were so badly necrosed.

The urologist doesn't want to remove the remaining testicle if possible, so he is having regular blood tests and ultrasound scans done on it to see if there is any change in it - I've told him that it has gone from having a dull ache in it to now a constant pain and is much more tender to the touch and I'm going to try and start injecting it again, although the half of it that is still soft is very, very painful to get a needle into, whereas the half that is already hard and damaged, I can get a needle into it easily with no pain, but I can't inject anything into it!

So, good news - one testicle gone, hopefully the other one will be soon as well!

I did my first ever alcohol injection a few days ago. 2.5 ml of vodka into one ball. Had a few hours of feeling like I had been punched in the ball. Pain then subsides to a dull ache for a day. All seems fine now. Although the ball has slightly less sensitivity.

I have done another 3ml. So time to give it a break for a few weeks. I wonder how many injection s it takes before any atrophy occurs. I suppose everyone varies.
