Decision Made & Going For It!

Hi Everyone,

This past Wednesday was the one year anniversary of me going full time in living my life, 24/7, as me. It was an uneventful passing but gave me pause on how good my life has been over the past 12 months.

First, it doesn't seem like a full year, maybe 6 months at the most. I guess it goes along with the old saying "time flies when you're having fun" and it has been a lot of fun, that's for sure.

Congratulations on your one year anniversary, Erica Ann! It will be a mere three months since I transitioned this coming Monday but that time has flown by so I can relate!

There has been some good things happening on the family front. Two weeks ago we had a small party at our home for my spouse's family. Several of her sisters as well as her mother and one of her brothers and his spouse were in attendance. There was some really good conversations and a lot of intelligent questions asked. It was so nice to finally meet them as my real self. I received a good reception from everyone and I felt it went real well. Finally, some acceptance by family.

This is terrific news and I am happy for you.

On another good note, I'm only five weeks away from my date with the surgeon for GRS. As the date gets closer, it's getting harder to contain my excitement. My spouse is having a "going away party", if you know what I mean on Tuesday night, September 16th. If anyone's in the area, let me know, you're more than welcome to attend.

I have been very aware of your upcoming GRS date. The going away party is a great idea and your spouse is so very thoughtful! If I lived closer, I would certainly love to attend. As it is, I will have to be content with wishing you a great time at the party.

Before you know it, you'll be through with the surgery and have something else to celebrate when you return home.

Hi Gang,

Well, the time is drawing near. Two weeks from today will be my last day in the office before leaving for Colorado. Today I sent the last of the information, e.g.; medical history form, EKG and HIV test results, completed medical release form, a brief personal history and the cashier's checks to Dr. Bower via UPS Second Day Air.

Began to shop for the necessities of my new life today. Things like maxi pads, panty liners, bed protectors and the most important of the items...lubrication for dilation.

I'm getting so excited. The time is drawing near after a year of waiting...or should I say a whole lifetime of waiting. The time is getting close for this dream to become reality. The reality of my new life. The one I've always felt should have been from the start.

In preparation of the BIG EVENT, I've decided to treat myself to a full set of hair extensions, which I will have installed on Thursday night. A girl has to look her best you know!

Went to my local hang out this past Saturday night and all of the other girls were abuzz with excitement for me. They keep talking to me about it and telling me how happy they are for me. It was really nice of them.

I can hardly wait for Wednesday the 17th to arrive!

What an odd combo. I open the mail and my wife's Estrogen falls out of the envelope and I read your post. Congrats on the good EKG and everything being a go! Butterflys?? I almost forgot this is your month for the big day!!! Sending you many prayers for a quick recovery!

Take the pain pills (Or IV press the button) don't try to be a tough girl! Take your laxatives (I think? right???) the opiates plug you up like no ones biz! When I asked my GP which one to take after my Orchi she laughed and said ALL THREE!

Don't let anyone tell you jokes for the first week. Ouch Ouch Ouch! And no sneezing...

Tell Dr Marci hi from he MN fan club. *No cracks Danya!

Oh and when you have to pee for the first time remember these words. "Let us spray" Er pray?

Dear Erica Ann,

You've been on quite a journey that has taken you so far. You are an inspiration for me, young lady! You will be in my thoughts and prayers during your time in Colorado as another part of your dream becomes reality. I wish you much happiness.

I've seen some of those hair extensions on woman friends. I didn't know they were even using any until they told me. They looked terrific and I am sure you will, too.

I admire you, I admire Danya. Because you do what your heart says. I guess I did the same things 3 years ago this September 20th, when I turned my back on everything safe, my complete safety net and move on with my life to live with Bobbie. There were times that I was really confused and upset, but given time to see reality, I have realized that it was the best move for me. Danya and Erica Ann; you go gurls. Hurrah.

The time is drawing very near now. One short week from right now...I will be post op! It's almost hard for me to believe that after waiting all this time my dream is about to come true.

Just two more days in the office, a party for me on Tuesday night and next Wednesday I'll be on a plane making my way to Colorado. Friday is my surgery, my new birthday, September 19th, will truly be a day that will live in my memory for the rest of my life.

One more weekend to party, which I'm definitely going to do! Going to the club tonight to see all of my girl friends and have a few cocktails as well as tomorrow night. I won't be getting out too much for several weeks after this weekend so I'm planning on making the most of it, that's for sure!

OMG, I just can't wait for next week!
