Not much of a rain today, just some heavy mist that made things wet.
I would not say it was even 1/8".
More rain alleged for Monday. We'll see.
Meanwhile, a near half Moon drifts apathetically toward the western horizon,
as if chasing a Sun it will never catch.

"MY BEAGLE"? When did the dog become "My beagle"? --FLO--
The beagle belongs to the girl in the house. She never feeds it nor plays with it. During the day it is tied to a 40 foot leash and hangs out near my door.
The beagle adopted me - I call it Dog.

Dog and Wolfie (as named by Yoli) should take shelter from the storm heading our ways.
Rain is coming. I do believe the goddess of rain saved the sky water that didn't appear as predicted last week
and she's a gonna pack it in for this storm. Now scheduled for late Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Moi, I got 3 side by side, 4 inch drains in my yard and I am perched on a hill.
My roof is good and I got an automatic, natural gas powered electricity generator.
I do hope Dog and Wolfie get s'more blocks under their shelters.

Our weather has been pleasantly mild. Less than an inch of snow in January and even the high piles left by the plows in December have melted. Almost 50 yesterday. Worked outside in shorts and a sweatshirt. A little rain today but temps in the 40s. Supposed to get cold for a few days but still no snow in the forecast. GOTTA LUV IT! I can handle the cold but snow is a time consuming, expensive, destructive pain in the ass. Cold doesn't rust our vehicles, make a mess of things and most of all we don't waste a lot of time & $ moving it.

Freezing rain and ice forming in upstate NY. Thinking I'd rather have deep snow than this any time. But my heart's out to those stricken with tornadoes down in the deep south

I lived in Milwaukee for 2 years and experienced freezing rain while driving. Not fun.
But the morning after such a storm is one of the prettiest sites of nature I have experienced.
Translucent icicles hanging everywhere. Just don't worry about the power lines.
Prettier when you don't have to go anywhere.
This storm delivered 1 3/8th inches of rain to me.
That is over 24 hours. I wish for a real gully washer like the kind that required me to put in 3, 4" yard drains because one could not handle the downpours. I hear some actually get an inch of rain over an hour or two. Bring it on!
My $20 bare root, 4 in 1 Cherry Tree is loving it. 3 of 4 types of cherry are budding with green poking out.
It has only been in the ground for some 3 weeks. Sweet shelling peas are about 2" and I am pondering their ties. Corn seed is planted and lettuce seed has sprouted. The front yard Blueberry is blossoming but, not the back yard one.
I am trying Spinach from seed for the first time.

Unfortunately the wind decided to pick up so just waiting for some poor tree like to reach its breaking point. I will be surprised if we don't lose power before daybreak.

Cold front moving in again, up and down. Nice wind, dogs are freaked out right when I want to go to bed!
61F today, and soon to be 18F. Ouch! Probably be sick as a proverbial dog by Thursday!

Was in Moab. Radio has announcements that there will be extremely dangerous winter driving conditions in Colorado. Road closures, chains required, etc.

About 10" of snow on the ground and still falling. Wind is picking up causing whiteout conditions. Of course snow has to be the light fluffy kind just what the wind likes.
