There was an incredible series of rain storms, every 3 to 10 days.
Now the cycle has been broken as this late week's predicted rain, ain't gonna happen.
Old non fruiting Pear trees along my n'hood streets are beginning their Spring with white blossoms.
A few wimpy asparagus pears and some lettuce seed and
Protected via bird net.
Hoping for rain.
Now they claim rain on Friday and Monday too with a clear weekend.
Stay tuned. They, Weather Control Central, change their tune all the time

Tshirt and light shirt is fine in Phoenix now. Up here in the mountains the jacket I throw on out of habit is actually kind of optional at midday.

Hotel rooms in Punxsutawney are renting for more than hotel rooms at the Super Bowl.
February 2nd is Ground Hog Day.
The "6 more weeks of winter" has been explained in the Olde Farmer's Almanac as the average time that winter storms move across the United States. It also has to do with superstitions about Candlemas day.
However,
For those who don't know -- Groundhog Day is not just a get-together on Feb 2nd. It's a week long binge and pub crawl for those in attendance. It's one of the all-time great parties hidden in plain sight.
And also, for those who don't know -- the Mayor of Punxsutawney puts on an armored glove to reach into the special "burrow" and grab the groundhog. Philomela bites (and yes, it is Philomela because Phil really, really, really bites. One does not grab the male of the species without losing digits.
And one last thing -- I knew guy who would run over groundhogs and then clean the carcass and deep-fry the meat with lots of breading for his lunches. (My bowels quiver at the thought)

....February 2nd is Ground Hog Day.....Has the groundhog's forecasting skill improved recently? I've heard that if you have to bet on when winter will end, you're ahead to bet against the groundhog's prognostication.

Punxsutawney Phil's predictions are like the Olde Farmer's Almanac -- based on patterns of weather
Wikipedia has a reference that as of 2016 Phil's accuracy was 39% correct.

My beagle was knocking on my door today to tell me it was raining. I let him in to dry off. Theoretically, it stops today and rains again Monday through Wednesday. For lack of a better excuse, I blame Moi.

Not much of a rain today, just some heavy mist that made things wet.
I would not say it was even 1/8".
More rain alleged for Monday. We'll see.
Meanwhile, a near half Moon drifts apathetically toward the western horizon,
as if chasing a Sun it will never catch.
