Got about an inch of rain from late Wednesday through Thursday noon.

This storm was from the South. One from the North is due late Friday.

A set up for closing down the Grapevine because of dangerous road conditions. Cajon Pass too.

Unlike an El Nino year, this storm really was not in the weather predictions and happened.

During El Nino, predicted storms never happened.

Don't worry about me 😄,

I am warm, dry, secure. :D

At least you aren't having any more forest fires.

In 6 months we will have fires blamed on the rain promoting extra growth.

Rain loses if it does and rain loses if it don't

Moi's Solution,

Open Range Goat herding.

Truly, Southern California is gaining a population that likes, Goat meat.

The Leftie City of Laguna Beach found renting goat herds & herders was cheaper than chopping the brush down.

Or as I like to say, goats are cheaper than Mexicans. 🙄 I am so very bad

Rain due to start around 9PM and moving to Yellow and Orange Doppler Radar levels for an hour or three starting at 10PM.

The type of storm that seems to be materializing will make me grateful I have 3, 4" parallel drain pipes in my yard, within inches of each other. I got this low point y'see.

The temperature is dropping. I am wearing a sweater for the first time in years. Really. So comfy & cozy.

More news at 11 or as the big storm hits.

This Big, Bad, Cold storm should be hitting the EA :hearthrobLand the day after Christmas

or maybe even Christmas day.

Update:

Over the last 3 days, 2.5" of rain. Mostly sod soaker., light rain.

Over last night came 1,5" of that 2.5".

More rain in sight at the end of next week.

The Greatest State of California will be wet again.

Now the sun is strong and the wind from the West is too strong.

Makes my ears too cold.

We were promised 4 - 6" of snow, got 2 - 3". Made for a pretty Christmas. Today starts the melting and general mess.

Another set of rain events are scheduled.

Like the last ones, the first is from the south and the second from the Pacific Northwest.

The duo effect seems usual.

I continue to water because I am afraid if I don't I will be held to a lower consumption standard in the future.

Water conservation, like electricity, is a suckers bet. They continue to build without 21st century technology.

... rain events ...

Is that like water falling from the sky?

In my little township we always say that Jove is raping Venus and her tears are watering the earth.

We slaughter a goat to appease Venus' wrath when it stops.

The warmer storm from the south deposited 3/4" over hours of late night, early AM.

The colder storm from the Northwest is due Saturday.

We haven't had one storm that has stalled and delivered inches and inches of rain.

All but one just move through, depositing hardly a half inch of rain over hours.

We haven't had a storm of convergence from the south, the Northwest and the Pineapple Express too.

I do hope we have a rain event worthy of being termed a storm. ;)

Strawberry plants in a "Strawberry Pot" are showing signs of flowering.

The iddy-biddy green loquats are becoming less iddy-biddy.

A few ripe lemons from seriously sick trees with lots of dead wood.

The lemon's flavor is worth keeping the trees.

Some disease hit the neighborhood peach and lemon trees.

Apricot, plum, other citrus are not effected.

Pouring down rain here. Way beyond dogs and cats, more like mooses and squirrels :)
