In New York, they have a program called, "Meals on Wheels". Where they bring one warm meal to you 5 days a week at your home. Of course, you have to be retired and on Socail Security to get into this program.. I have wonder if they don't have a similar program in California, that you could take advantage of.

We used to have Meals on Wheels here but due to budget cuts, the program was dropped. I used to order them for my mom.

I was just looking here in Wisconsin and Riverwind can get them, if he is old enough.. Remember Riverwind is a lot younger than you. Meals on Wheel is here.

I went to a homeless church this morning at 6:30 am. After waiting in line in the cold for 90 minutes, they gave me two cups of orange juice, two burritos, a bottle of water and a bag of donuts. Not terribly delicious but it was filling.

Oh yeah, I had to listen to a 4 minute sermon too :)

Actually, the sermon was better than the burritos.

Monty gave me $8 tonight so I went out and bought Diet Coke, two tacos and a big cheeseburger. I have enough change for a light breakfast in the morning :)

There is an old story I always liked, I think of it as an O'Henry story but I'm not sure.

The gist is that a rich guy puts on a dinner for the down and out with the stipulation

that they are not required to listen to a sermon, as the dinner progresses and they all

find out there will be no sermonizing they are very disappointed.

WOO HOO, my check came today.

I celebrated by going grocery shopping only for the dire necessities of life: milk, cereal, bread, bolonga, jam, peanut butter, Cokes, a few cans of veggies, potatoes, ice and cookies.

It occurs to me that you could pck up a crock-pot for $5 or less at Goodwill or a yard sale, and a sack of beans and rice (poverty's friends) and be pretty much protected from the hungry time at the end of the month,

I have the crock pot. Now to just find some beans that would taste decent for 3 or 4 days. Suggestions?

A few minutes ago, my friend Terry made himself $5.00 in beer money by installing a lock on my second bedroom door.

Finally, I think my bedroom/pantry is safe from incursions :)
