Re: There's Always The Weather
Speak for your effing self.
We hit 73-75 outside yesterday. Of course, this meant my room hit 87f. Someone please, please, PLEASE bring frigging winter back, or let me win the lotto so I can afford a portable AC unit.
There is no way in hell anything over 80f is a 'good' temperature.

Then my friend, you would love it here today, hottest place in the Nation, 103, 102 for the last 4 hours. The good news is it will be 20deg lower tomorrow and 10 more the day after and by the end of the week back to a nice 65.

No temperature over 70 degrees. Mission Fig very unhappy. Lots and lots of fruit turning purple but remaining hard, with dry white meat when they fall from the tree. Last year summer did not arrive until after Labor Day. We had a wonderfully wet Autumn, Winter and Spring.
Whose Global Warming is this, anyways? Minnesota's? The Atlantic Coast's?
Sure isn't my Global Warming. Or I live in the New Global A/C zone.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Gray. Gray. Oh so gray.
Not fog, no precipitation, just gray, gray, gray. Not over 70F.
The sun is poking out a white hazy sky at 5PM with 3 hours to go to sunset.
Gray May? June Gloom?
Global warming?
Mission Fig remains unhappy. Sweet shelling peas ripening and several tomato plants are showing flowers but no evidence of fruit. That takes heat and sun.
I have placed an order for early AM and near sunset clouds with mid day full sun and temperatures approaching 75F.
We need to rip up some pavement.

" . . . in conducting the nine-day study, which focused on the Houston area, the investigators used atmospheric measurements and computer simulations to analyze how paved surfaces affected breezes. They found that pavement, which heats up and keeps land warmer overnight, reduced night-time winds. . . . "

Re: There's Always The Weather
Royal Apricots are ready.
On my 7' tree there are probably over 100 gold and red blushed fruit.
All apricoty, sweet and juicy at the same time.
Considering the lack of warmth and sunshine, very impressive.
The Mission Fig is still unhappy, covered in blackening dry, yuk, fruit. White and dry inside, not red, sweet and juicy. Two years ago this tree made some good ones.
If you plant an Apricot tree, be sure it is a Royal Apricot.
An old variety.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Over the last three weeks, the weather has remained - the weather.
While mine remains too cool for mission figs, the apricots finished and the lemons are glorious.
Minimally, for this upload, it is not all about me.
There is a "heat advisory" over much of EA membership sparing those in Wisconsin & Minnesota but stretching from Dave, across to Streetglide, up to Bobover3 where the news claims concern for our poultry reserves, chronically ill and elderly. And what of Ernie of Maine?
Heated folk share your weather suffering, you might feel better. It apparently is not my global warming.

Hotter than a match made in heaven, hotter than a pepper sprout!
"Jackson"...
As one gay man said to the other gay man in the bar...
I once rubbed two dicks together and boy did we start a fire!

Re: There's Always The Weather
Way up Minneapolis way it is going to be over 100F plus humidity.
Severe Heat Alert.
Relief?
Severe Storm Warnings Monday.
That's how they do it in Minneapolis.
Further reports from our Minneapolis area members,
if they can get online.
It isn't just about Minneapolis but all the Midwest,
South East and seemingly sparing Bob3 (Jersey Bob) and Ernie of Maine, he's in Maine.
Suspect Dave of West Penn and the lost Streetglide near Baltimore are in marginal zones.
Please share, the rest of the Board is soooo sloooow
and there is always, the weather.

as always, Send Water, please
