Re: There's Always The Weather
Eighty degrees and cooling.
Winds. Wind not due to cease until 2PM Sunday as a Wind Alert or Warning or some government Wind Notification.
My poor cherry trees are not handling it well. Their leaves are folding and weaker branches are twisting. Been watering and drip irrigating them all day. As some of the fruit is split I thought I was well ahead of the watering curve. I would have expected Cherry Trees to be more wind resistant like a peach or apple tree. My Royal Apricot I knew needed protection and has it although last wind storm the fruit managed a little wind burn.
Hey this is California! Why isn't my weather perfect?

They lied!
Heat continues as does the Santa Ana Winds. Cats fur sparks when stroked. Dry, feels parched.
What happened to Gray May?
Will we miss our June Gloom?
These phenomena help keep coastal areas cooler until July or so. Last year the gray and gloom didn't leave until Autumn.
Stay tuned to this thread for the most important weather conditions in America, nay the most important weather conditions in the world, the naval of the universe, Southern Coastal California.
How's your weather? River rising? The water kind I mean.

Moi thanks, I needed a good laugh to start the day, you are the only person I know that can blast away at a previous post even if you are the one who made it. Quoting it even.
It has been a long winter, most people here are glad its May and are looking forward to finally getting spring which will be short lived I think.

Re: There's Always The Weather
It finally got up to 70 today, second time this year.
Last time was the first part of April.
Should get into the mid 70's this weekend, YEA
Finally I can turn off the heater.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Wet stuff and been coming from the sky over the last two evenings and the days are clear and blustery.
Has anyone told the Weather Bureau that this is MAY and the weather ain't, MAY in Southern California.
Dear MidWest Members. How high is the well, above mark? How many inches below your side walks is the ground water?
In Woodbridge, a neighborhood in Irvine, it is about 8-12 inches below side walk level.
Moi
What, Global Warming! Wetter and cooler here.

Storms and Floods, ,
"Doom" is most of the NBC News.
Al Jazeera gives a good 25-30% of its' 30 minutes.
Aren't there any members
No not those members
Aren't there any EA Board members in the news occupying storm and flood zone? Please share.
Share anyways, it is just about the weather here and there topically speaking.
Paradise remains just a tad too cool for the garden. The Leechee tree is threatening to fruit and Leechee fruit from Mexico is now in the markets.
Nearly June and it is too cool for a garden in Southern Coastal California.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Paradise you say, actually my oldest son lives in Paradise and its nowhere near you. It was originally called Hell in the 49er days, and after the gold played out the people that stayed decided that Hell was not the best name to draw new people to move into the area so they renamed the town Paradise.
So Moi, you think you live in Paradise, but do you have Bald Eagles flying overhead? Do you have the longest river in the North America next to you, are you next to the largest fresh water lake? Do you have ICE fishing? If you don't have these things you don't don't live in paradise. I walked into the woods behind my house yesterday, up the trail and finally stopped to sit on a log for a bit, when a dear jumped next to me, about 60ft in front of me, about 5 minutes later I continued up the trail only to find a baby fawn maybe a day old frozen waiting for her mother to give the all clear, I backed off back to the log and froze. Soon I could hear the mother give that all clear and the baby who was not to study on her legs went into the brush. I then started up the trail again and around the next turn was another fawn the sister or brother to the first one, I continued passed about another 50 ft or so and soon the mother called him too. Moi, you may live in what you think is a nice place, but its not Paradise, or paradise, or Wisconsin, which is as near paradise as can be.

Re: There's Always The Weather
First week of June and we have sky water.
Mist, Oregon Fog, Drizzle, rain.
No real heat yet this year. Mission fig not very happy. Too cool.
The Fuji Apple trees in the neighborhood usually just kept their leaves and produced all year round. But, this year they are all in sync. Having dropped their leaves, produced blossoms and small fruits.
The apricots are starting to yellow up are plentiful but, small. Gonna be yummy. Royal Apricot. An old variety. Second and third round of lemons starting as three trees are loaded with ripe and aging fruits. Grazing sweet shelling peas and lettuce from my garden. Cooked up some garden potatoes today.
The exciting weather I guess is in the South East where we lack member representation. And the flood country of the mid, mid west.
