A Beloved Pet’s Prayer

Remember me always, but don’t grieve for me too long. I have tried always to comfort you in times of sorrow, and have made every effort to add joy to your life. I never wanted to cause you pain.

Peace for me is certain now, and I suspect I will have eternal sleep in the earth I have loved so well.

Please, after your period of grieving for me, make room in your heart for another. You are the kind of human being that should always have a friend like me to love. Your kind and gentle heart should not be wasted on my memory for too long. Give your love to another. I know your new friend will never take my place, because we had something very special.

It may not be quite the same, but a new devoted and loving companion will in time, become special in their own way.

You loved me very much and I loved you. My spirit will always be with you, and no matter how deep my sleep, my grateful tail will always be wagging for you.

I wish to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words.

Max meant the world to me, I will NEVER forget him, he was a very special part of my life.

I just wish I could have been the Person he thought I was.

One day I will bring another four footed furry friend in to my life and heart.

Not right away; but the time will come for another to steal my heart. And I will give it.

Thank you all again for your healing words.

Ken

Sorry to hear of your loss.

It has happened to me more than once.

After you grieve, you will go through a period of reassesment and believe me you will find another friend.

I go to shelters and there is always a dog which you will connect to. Only once I had to return a dog because of it's personality.

I wish we could share pictures here.

Good Luck Ken.

You have me deepest sympathies. I have had the indescribable joy of dogs and cats in my life and have also shared the hurt when they died. I bawl like an old woman every time one of them dies.😢🤗

THE CREATION OF MAN'S BEST FRIEND

The Great Mother called a beast to her side and said, “I want my children to be happy for they are created in my image. Therefore you must adore them. You will protect them, shepherd their flocks, watch over them and accompany them wherever they may go.

You will be their companion, their ally and their slave. You will walk by my children, sleep in their doorway, protect them from their enemies, share their troubles and love and comfort them. For doing this my children will fulfill your needs and wants which will only be food, water, shelter and love.

To do these things I will give you instincts that I have given no other animal: faithfulness, devotion and understanding beyond that of even my children. So that your courage will never fail you shall never foresee your death. So you will be eternally loyal you will be blind to the faults of my children. So that your heart can be understood you will be denied the power of words but will speak to my children only with your mind and through your eyes.

So be silent and be a friend of my children. This will be your legacy and your immortality for I have placed you above all beasts.”

The dog heard and was content.

Think about what Dog spells in reverse? Perhaps there is a reason for that....

Ken I am so sorry, pets have a way of becoming not part of our lives but someone who we try to do everything to please. I know I feel much the same way about Rupert, who you have met. My heart goes out to you my friend.
