18 year old nurse huh? Well anythings possible. Good luck in the future.
Actualy it is possible. In Minnesota high school students can accelerate and take half their load in college classes. I've known two who graduated high school a semester or so short of being a two-year RN. Go figure. Then again, he might really be 19?....

Hey I'm not a doctor, but for want it's worth I am a nurse. You may want to ask your doctor about urgical denervation of the spermatic cord, it more or less blocks the nerve that receives the pain, it may be a nother option for you,and this way you get to keep the testy working as normal. hope this helps and wish you good luck and better health ether way you go
That is a good option to consider. From the medical lit that I've read the best percentage of chance for 100% elimination of pain is still Inguinal Orchiectomy. Cut nerves left too close to other tissues tend to bloom out and then you end up with pain months or years after the procedure. At least fome what my Pain Doctor told me. He suggested and I relayed to my surgeon "Cut High! and don't forget nerve blocks before you cut to cords"
Relief for me was 100% from the time I woke up from the surgery. There was soreness from the incision pain but that was pretty minor compared to the kick in the balls feeling that Orchialgia was for me.
And the side benifit is I got rid of my shrunken up atrophied testes and got a pair or faux "super balls."

I think its worth repeating that being given an Orchiectomy for chronic pain is not "common" its also NOT impossible to obtain. I think its simply a matter of finding out what the source of the pain is. No surgeon should be snipping out parts without being damn sure its the right part or parts that need to go.
Once you get past that there are alternatives to surgery that are worth the trouble to try. Why get snipped if a daily pill will solve the problem? Its even worth pondering if nerve blocks or some other surgery might do the trick.
If you try a number of approaches and your quality of life still sucks it will be easier for the surgeon to offer Orchiectomy as an option and even more important YOU will be happier sliding over to the operating table to have it done. This is one thing where there are NO do overs. Being 100% sure is important and thats one reason why seeing a shrink at some point is not all bad. It at least gives you a chance to talk out the whole thing.
