Tyler it's not an overnight thing, you won't even see results for a few months...

The Estrogen al one - you won't see much difference in libido, in my case anyway.

The Depo you will see an effect with, and it may cause you to rethink your reasons for doing such - mark this sentence - when it arrives, say 8 weeks from now tell me how you feel........

I speak from experience except I like Estrogen, but I like having SOME libido too....

Depo Provera is very individual in it's effects. I have been on it for a while and it has done is take the edge off my libido in addition to lack of nocturnal erections. I have no problems at all in getting erection when I'm with my wife and no problems having an orgasm. If interested, I started a thread in the chemial castration section called "wife agreed to chemical castration". The only BAD side effect has been that I get hot at night, especially with skin to skin contact. I have also had some night sweats.

Just remember genetics play a major roll in how sensitive you are to estrogen. My self I'm very sensitive to estrogen and one estrogen pill could cause my small breast to almost double in size. But others never will get large breasts.

Definitely hormones affect people differently. Some people may take high doses of anti-androgens and their libido is not affected while others lose it by taking estrogen alone. If you are "doing-it-yourself" I'd recommend starting on the lowest dose and building up in stages to the dose you think is suitable one/two weeks at a time and analyze how you feel. Reduce the dose if necessary, or if you decide to quit in order not to shock your system.

I've never heard that hormones are addictive in the "traditional" sense of the word. It may be temporarily unplesant having the increasing level of testosterone in your system but you have survived for a number of years like that so i'm sure you'll live. A trend for some people is to reduce or stop taking hormones a few days every 28 day cycle, in order to simulate a woman's period. It's easy to forget to take your hormones and people go on and off them all the time (not a healthy choice but it's true) so for most people I doubt it is addictive.

Hormones taken orally are broken down fairly easily and it's out of your system in a few hours. Instead of increasing the dose you want to take a tablet 2 or 3 times per day. *If taking tablets you want to make sure you have a healthy liver. Absorbing estrogen through the skin is safest and offers a lower dose over a longer period of time. Injecting hormones will give you a high dose over the longest period (not the best idea if you don't know how they will affect you).

I'm not a doctor but if you really can't see a doctor for yourself that is the best advice I can give.

BTW provera can cause depression and hormones can increase your chances of getting blod clots along with a number of other side effects - so be careful! Some effects of course become irreversable in the long term.
