I would suggest some well placed, well-worded, and calm letters of complaint to the state's hospital board or licensing authority, the same for the doctors and nurses licensing boards. I would do those after the same to the hospital administration, but don't wait too long for them to blow you off - no more than ten days to respond and correct. Then foot prints in their scalps. Don't forget hospitals cringe in fear of accrediting agencies. Find the one that deals with yours - complain to them too. Is your hospital given any government funding? Local or state? Well placed comments to representatives also help. Calm, rational, and very persistent follow-up to complaints of this nature are often good at getting some action. Perhaps your state (like Minnesota) has a hospital board ombudsman with enforcement powers, who advocates for patients and their families?

Hearing of your extremely bad experiences brings back memories of my best friend’s treatment that he was given very similar evil treatment four years ago this week. That was also castration related problems. Having meet and chatted with eunuch’s it seems that we are not always treated the same as other people by the medical profession.

Sometimes I think hospitals are more of torture chambers then places to be healed. I know I have great fears of going to one. The experience you received is so similar to what other's received is so scary.

I am happy that you are at least home again. I think you can heal faster when at home and you can sleep in your own bed. No nurse waking you up in the middle of the night giving you a sleeping pill. Hope you will continue to recover and have less pain every day.

The hospital I went to was (Thankfully) not a shop of horrors. The nurses and doctors were great. I'm sorry your experience was so poor....

15 days post-op. My body is changing from a lifetime of pain, literally, I've had this since my original injury at 8. I keep expecting the pain to return any min, to move in the wrong way where before would send me into agony, now it doesn't. I suppose it will take a while to get used to my new state, its like my body was a giant spring tensioned with the pain, and now its been released.

I dont know life without pain. I'm having to change in my mind that the reality is different for me now. As each injury i had is fixed, i heal in my soul too.

A Desperate act led me to meet an understanding doctor, and my life is changed. i dont know to laugh or cry, considering my journey.

A Few post op problems is all that Ive had, bladder lockups mostly, i have had to cath myself a few times and that's always fun <not>, but this may actually being caused by other injuries related but not directly, and having surgery in the area has just inflamed the old injuries. I wont know for a while i guess, so hopefully it resolves itself.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I had a similiar experience. My bilateral orchiectomy was performed through the scrotum against my requests. Dr. said it would be much easier and recovery faster. Recovery was fast but the cords did remain and attach in the inguinal canal causing pain every time there was any tug on the area. Wearing anything that rubbed the inguinal area, such as pants, jock shorts, etc. caused pain. I took the issue back to the Dr and he passed it off. "Don't understand what could be causing pain" he said "I followed operating procedures". I went through several Urologist and they all said I should not have pain and sent me to pain management. Phantom pain they suggested. I had no success getting them to go in and remove the cords until I had a bilateral hernia and I was able to talk the surgeon to go in orthoscopally (belly button surgery) and cut the cords out of the inguinal canal and tie them off in the abdomen prior to repair of the hernias. He agreed that would be a good ides since it would remove the need of packing netting around the useless cords. I had immediate relief when they were removed and have no pain to this day. Dr.'s are often times deaf to the needs of the patient. Don't know why. Glad it is over Mismatched.

My cords were hurting within a week of my scrotal removal. The cuts were done twice, low and high, and still were getting me.

My cord removal was done though the sack with endoscopic tools. She went in and worked back from the source, and after disconnecting the suspending tendon, she said they just slid out "like snakes". :)

When i woke i knew it worked, i felt it immediately. The pain was just.. Missing.
