Too early to tell. I've been "experimenting" with various dosages. 50mg wasn't quite enought, but 75mg was too much. I'm looking for a "happy medium."

Raised to 75 mg and ordered more. Plan to raise dosage when I get it. Been 3 Weeks and it has done something. I don't wake up with an erection. I think my penis has gone to more flacid state, or maby shrinking a little? The color of glans has faded somewhat, although I can still get erections it takes alot of work to attain orgasm. havn't botherd for last 4 days. I am hoping a higher dose will stop erections compleatly.

Don't rush it. 75 mg is enough for most people. Just let your body adjust. Give it some more time. You will not die continuing this regimen another two weeks.

Please don't forget Androcur and liver are no friends.

It has been a month and still getting erections. Have masturbated twice in last week. I am seeking total castration not just lower libido. Am thinking should raise dosage to 150mg for at least a week then reduce?

Be patient. It does take while to kick in. I ended up going to 200mg a day for about 6 months -- plus added a 20mg tamoxifen. Libedo dropped to zero. I now take 100mg of androcur and tamoxifen daily to maintain. I am good sized guy (6'3" & 225#) which may explain higher dosage. It is important to keep tabs on liver function. I have it checked twice a year as part of regular blood work. So far everything is going well. BTW, I take the the andocur after I've eaten something. Read that this places less strain on the liver.

I took 200mg for 4.5 months then lowered it to 100mg due to the fact I was going to run out. I was still horny and masturbated twice a day but my semen was less, and thin and clear. I did find that my libido was dependent on how much exercise I did though.

For last week I have been taking 150mg a day (2 weeks 50mg, 2 weeks 75mg, 1 week 150mg) Only masturbated once. Should I be taking Tamoxifen or something to block estrogen? If so how much? I want castration but not feminization.

Wow, 50mg a day knocks me totally no-libido in 7 days flat.......

Perhaps the HRT has reduced it but you wouldn't know it now as i've been off of it two months and well, things are working just fine...

Hi all its been a while for me to post anything. Its been about 11 months on androcur and have been still on 50 mg. a day. The results! well I would have to say its been kind of a bumpy ride! I dont have any sex drive to speek of and would have to say its been around 6 months the last time I have had a erection of any kind. I have gained about 20 pounds and it seems like I have been puting weight on in strange places.I havent noticed any penis shrinkage but I have noticed that my testicals have shrunk allot about 1/2. I am very happy with the change in me becouse I am more focused on life in general and not just in sex every day like I was. I had to find a new job 3 months ago becouse the job I was doing was to hard on me I lost allot of mussle mass. The job I have now is much easyer on me. Anyways in the last three months I have been thinking about going to Dr.Kimmel and have my testicals removed becouse the price of the androcur and everything else in life is starting to strain my pocket. two weeks ago I sold my motorcycle for about $8000 so I figured I would take $3000 of that and have the surgery done. So last friday I called Dr.Kimmel and talked to him about the surgery so I made an appointment for this comming friday. Am I scared? Not really,I just hope the pain isnt all that bad. Does my wife care? No!! She decieded that sleeping with another man would be more fun than me.
