Just got a letter from the Hospital asking me to go see the Urologist, I can only guess that this is either a result of my blood test or the scan being looked at further...... So wish me well! Will keep you posted

The appointment is at the end of the month, so I decided to come off the androcaur to make sure they get an unclouded assessment.
Since starting with androcaur, my testicles have shrunk noticeably the amazing thing is the severe testicular pain disappeared along with the erections. The 'cyst' or growth has diminished in size too, but the very hard little pead lik growth is the same.
Having weaned myself off by dropping the dose the pain has returned with a vengence. Having been on Androcaur for 3 weeks I am not sure about how long it will take for the residual effects to wear off.
If the doctors here knew I was self medicating they would take a very dim view.
In conclusion the overall effect of up to 150mg of androcaur was great and I plan to start again once the diagnosis is complete.

My honest advise is to tell your Doctors what your doing. If your having pains and this helps they maybe able to solve this some other way. If you have serious chronic pains there are guys who deal with this and as weird as you think this is they have heard it all... Good luck!

Hi jcat
I was wondering how you are getting on and have you had your test results back.
I started Androcur about a month ago and as my balls have shrunk I have also noticed a small pea shape lump in my scrotum.
It does not appear to be on my testicle but is on the inside of the sack the testicle is in (if you know what i mean).
As my testicle has shrunk it has moved away from the testicle wall unearthing it.
I don't intend to be on androcur for long as I want a family next year.
I too had the thought that if i left it long enough they will remove it (or both of my testicles) and it will save me a job in a couple of years. I know this is stupid as people have already said and that i should go and get it looked at, But I have suffered from a very high sex drive for years and I am enjoying the little bit of relief I am getting. I really want to stay on Androcur for another couple of months.
As soon as i am off the androcur and my testosterone has gone back up, I will have it looked at. But I, Like you, think the doctor will have a dim view of self medicating and i Know that the first thing he will do is test my testosterone level and will notice it is low.
After reading your post it has made me less worried about it, as it sounds like I have the same as you and that it isn't the big C after all.
Just wanted to also mention that there is NO pain at all from my lump and that I am in the UK too.

Fortuen smiled upon me and there was a cancelataion for the ultra sound test so I got an appointment yesterday.
In the UK they use ultrasound as the cheapest form of scanning.
Anyway the scan showed no sign of anything cancerous, there is a cyst o

which the Doc says is benign.
It does not explain why it is so painful and he reccomenede I see a specialist.
For the last week I have been taking 100mg of androcur morning and the pain has dininished a lot, taking estrogen too there are no bad symtoms, in a week my morning erections have gone and I like the control I have right now.
I won't close this thread just yet, I am going to keep monitoring this situation because it does not explain to other

When I saw you had testicular ultrasounds I thought of my own experiences with them. I asked the lady tech at the last one "Is this just the worst job you have ever had?" She said no, everyone she scans is able to talk and not near death. Open mouth insert foot I suppose.
How about a new thread on Chronic Orchitis? I <cough> ahh would be interested in that. *Unfortunately...

Hi Folks I am back.
been away. I had to come off all self medication to get another opinion from a specialist.
After going through all that and the constant pain returning I am left in the same state. There is nothing that can be done except pain control, which I don't want, they will not remove a 'healthy' testicle.
I have been back on my androcausr for a few days again and the swelling is going down and the pain is leseening by the day.
The sloution is removal of the bad testicle, preferablly both, I have investigated the cost at ORR in beligium at 2200 Euros it is too much and they insist on 3-4 days hospital stay on top......
Seriously thinking of doing it myself!

Hi Confuzed,
I have been ill and away so apologies for the slow reply.
If you are in the UK we can compare lumps if you like? LOL, Seriously you need to get any lumps checked, cancer kills if unchecked. The best thing you can do is come off the self medication and get to a Doctor ASAP. When you know what you have you can move on.
They won't even bother to check your T Levels, they will take a blodd test, urine and then do a scan. They will diagnose the lump this way.
Don't risk life over the calm of Andocaur.

Hi Kristoff,
I'm back!! Been away for a while now. I came off all self prescribed medication to comply with Doctors wishes. It took a long while for the effects my regimen to wear off.
As the T levels increased the pain got worse again, only this time sporadically in both testicles, the left is more or less constant nagging pain and the right sporadic.
The conclusion of the doctors was to offer pain relief and that it was something that one has to live with.
My plan to go to Belgium for a castration op was dashed by the sudden death of the lead Doctor at the Orr clinic and its closure.
So 2 weeks ago I have gone back on my own drug regime, supplemented the Androcaur for Spiro and already the pain level is going down. Spiro is nowhere as effective as Androcaur. The only effect of Androcaur I did not like was that I did get some very depressed days and I don't do depression.
I still consider doing the job myself and have spent some time researching the best way of self castration. ( subject for another thread maybe, so many do it and mess up big time). It is quite easy to do, just need to be sure to control bleeding and infection, which is where all the DIY bodges seem to fall over.
There is definitely a huge business opportunity for any one who can provide a safe castration service!
Previously the lump decreased in size and pain when on Androcaur, it will be interesting to see if it diminshes again on Spiro.
If not I will use my supply of Spiro and go back to Androcaur.

My best advice for DIY is to enlist a couple of very trusted friends, familiarize them with the process (particularly the things that go wrong) have them assist you and back you up, then expect problems. Do not do it by yourself. Things can go so wrong so fast that you won't be able to aid yourself or call for help. --FLO--
