What matters is the Sun Does Influence out Weather and how. What influences the Sun in turn is maybe not beyond our ability to understand or comprehend. But all negation of those that have done so is not a good policy since eventually the science will contribute as well at a much higher dollar value, grants and such. The Chief that retired from the National Observatory , what was his name, was the first one, I think who talked about this X planet object, who knew about it from fluctuations of other planetary objects. Others continued the work idea but where it is not, near our sun or what

remains a hidden topic so when will we know the whole story. If we do learn about it, the Hoax idea or the Truth idea, whatever - we will eventually learn to take each other more seriously and soon. N3RF

A black dwarf, (not the kind on the porn sites) is made byt a collapsing star. IT is a star that has exhausted it hydrogen in fusion reactions. The mass of the star causes it to compress due to graviational influence. Since there are no fusion or other nuclear reactions it has noting to drive it in an explosive outward expansion.

However, the star did not have enough mass to cause it to shrink into a black hole. The mathematic was worked out by Steven Hawking, among others, and it is too complicated to show to a layman, however, the conclusions from the matthmatics is irrefutable, especially since these black dwarf stars are still a source of certain types of radiation, pertainint to their mass, makeup, etc.

These black dwarf stars take billions upon billions of years of being a conventional star before their hydrogen is all used up and they collapse.

Our sun is calcualted to be a middle-aged star of approxiamtely 4.5 billion years of age. The chances of a black dwarf being in an elliptical orbit is a mathematical unlikelyhood because of the age differenc that would exist between them.

Our sun could not have formed under the influence of a middle-aged star which is what would have had to happen for black dwarf and it to be in any kind of a binary orbit.

By the way, a black dwarf star would have benn on the near to the same order of mass as our own so if our sun 'captured' one in a gravitational sense, they would have went into 'binary orbits' orbiting each other around a common focus point accorting to Kepler's laws and also according to the accepted, (and mathematically and astronomically), proven laws governing orbits of astronomical bodies.

I don't know if any of this makes sense to you, but the computer-mathematical models of that you are describing don't work out even in theory.

I am sorry to tell you this, but I hope that it helps. If you don't believe me, research it by taking a courses in astronomy and physics. Or, just find a astronomical physicist to ask.

They are entertaining, and yes some of their stories start out with some element of truth, but they end up just so way out.

Look, like all SMART con-men, frauds or just plain jesters, there has to be a grain of truth in it - otherwise it would be too easily disproved. With enough of truth or half-truths sprinkled in here and there, all you need to say is "government cover-up" and anyone seriously trying to sort the occasional fact from fiction will look like white washers...

In the "Planet X" joke ('cause a joke it is...) we all know about meteors and comets from cinema and science shows and such, so that is truth enough to build from. But actually - any astronomical object with those caracteristics given would have left enough signs of it self even if it had passed through our solar system only once before.

We would see it in such things as the asteroids for example. In our solar system they are very well ordered, found exactly where gravity from all the known planets (mainly Jupiter) would have us predict.

A rouge planet travelling through our solarsystem would have made a complete mess, even billions of years ago, that we would still see the effects of. We don't, so it hasn't.

For the sun-affecting-our-weather-story, it's a combination of the serious scientific debate about global warming and some unrelated factoids that have been utilized way out of proportion.

Yes, the sun does affect climate in a lot of ways. Without our sun there would be no climate at all - only frozen hydrogen... So a lot of variations in solar energy output will affect things like temperature and precipitation on earth.

But this is a question of differing scales. Sunbursts WILL result in changing weather patterns near the globes - and in the beautiful aurora borealis by the way - by charging the atmosphere with a lot of energy. A few days later, the effects of that will change the local weather in the subarctic region. (Just about where I live, for example...)

There are other solar variations, usually cyclic in nature, that are described by science and sometimes may interact with other phenomenon to cause significant variation in mean temperatures over time. (That is one of the things that make it so tricky to say if there really is global warming going on or not...)

But what this "article" describes, is just not according with any plausible theory. It realtes to scientific facts in the same way Cerberus the hound of hell relates to the nice doggy of your neighbor.

And in case anyone wonders, astronomy used to be a very fond interest of mine and I run in to the question of global warming from time to time in my line of work.

I believe that the Planet Venus rotates in the opposite direction of the other 8 planets in this Solar System for a reason...that is true if you still consider Pluto a planet and even if you ignore the Planet X thing all together...
