I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd resurrect it.
I'm living on work assignment away from my wife for eight months, and so my libido control became very important. I've been using Vitex and I have to say that it is actually effective and worth it.
I know there is a lot of (reasonable) skepticism about herbal remedies. However, Vitex has decent amount of real science behind it. Anyway, the premise is that it raises prolactin levels which tricks your body into thinking it just had sex. Therefore, you are tricking your body into the refactory period (the period of time between orgasms where it becomes harder to get aroused).
Anyway, it works well for me. I feel like I just had sex. This actually isn't entirely pleasant because it means you don't feel as aggressive and things like weightlifting seem harder to get motivated to do.
It is also very cheap. I get it at GNC in US for $5.99 for 100 pills -- that is just 6 cents per pill! I take three a day, for dose of 400mg. So I get a decent dose for only 18 cents per day!
Anyway, it is cheap and from my experience effective, and can be bought in any shopping center legally. So I would definitely recommend trying it if libido control is your primary concern.

This is very intersting. Does anyone else have experience taking Vitex pills?

Note that most guys out there don't want to lower libido so you won't find a lot of info on that, but for Vitex you'll find lots of experiences posted by guys who were looking to prevent premature ejaculation. This is sort of similar, since the idea is that you're not as horny and not as much pressure for orgasm.
So search the internet for "vitex premature ejaculation experience" and similar, and you'll get a sense that it does in fact have an effect on a decent percentage of guys.
Women also use Vitex to help with lactation when breastfeeding. If you read their experiences, you see that their libido and ability to orgasm is reduced while on it (considered a bad side effect by most).

Is there any validity to claims that daily consumption of 5 oz. red wine and 4 grams of licorice will reduce testosterone levels. Thanks

I tried for almost 2 years to use herbals to feminize and lower my very troublesom libido. I spent allot of coin and had nothing to show for it. Then for nine months took only estrogen I no longer have to cum three times a day. The only thing I took besides the estrogen was Finistride. If I can figure out how to add a pic I can show you the results?

The only natural product that works to reduce testosterone is "Saw Palmetto" it has the same effect as "Finasteride" you can find lots of info about it on the web, it cost about $10. month. I've used it for 8 years and it works!

There are a couple problems with that method though -- some of us don't want to be feminized, we just want lower libido so we don't get into trouble and have clearer mind without distraction. Estrogen will cause feminization, including breast growth. Also estrogen has a risk of blood clots (need to be careful as this sort of thing is what killed thousands of women during early birth control trials).
With the Vitex, I first of all felt it in my balls, then started getting hot flashes, then suddenly everything became extremely clear and calm. I can barely remember being so clear-headed. Instead of having erections almost constantly (could barely walk around the mall without having to stop every while until erections went away) to having to work to get one. And my balls seriously shrunk (my balls are usually extra large) and they felt sort of harder. Lastly, my nipples and penis seemed to lose all erotic sensation. It was weird because they still had sensation, but it felt no different than other body parts -- no different from rubbing my elbow or something.
I could still masturbate if I wanted to, but there wasn't nearly the daily pressure to do so. I could also last a lot longer with my wife before orgasm.
It definitely had a big effect for me. The downsides was that it made me feel less aggressive (this could be a positive for some, but for me meant not being as good at athletics and also my work which is very competitive). Also, it seemed to make me retain water -- my midsection started to look soft even though I knew it wasn't fat.
Whether it works for other people probably depends on their hormonal situation. If you're a masculine guy with overactive libido, then I suggest trying it. If you have other reasons, or are already low testosterone, etc., then I doubt it will be as effective as other options.
