Get some real painkillers. That is going to hurt quite a bit. I tried a rubber band once. The pain in the cords was very intense after about 45 minutes. I'd suppose that a Burdizzo chrunch would produce the same result. I do think that you should be concerned about a blood clot or gangrene setting in afterwards. Personally I'd prefer a scalpel to a Burdizzo (with suitable Lidocaine injections first).

thank you for all the feedback on burdizzo's. my wife and i have found that finding a doctor to perform the task at hand is near impossible so a burdizzo seemed the next best option. i am certainly taking all that you have written under advisement.
