The woollen mills were in Yorkshire, on the east side of the Pennines. Manchester, and Lancashire in general, was where the cotton mills were. The higher humidity of the climate of north-west England were better suited for the spinning of cotton yarn.
Given the industrialisation of the Manchester area, the nearest sheep are probably up on the Cumbrian fells, though since Chernobyl, any sheep should be properly checked out with a Geiger counter first.

But now that you mention it, The Scots are so drunk they can't remember if they just did it with sheep or their wives.

I deliberately headed off towards Cumbria to avoid any references to Welsh sheep, though I may still have somewhere a newspaper cutting about the theft of a consignment of inflatable "love ewes" from a sex shop down Swansea way....

Cam we say "invitation?" There is already excellent discussion re: Scots and sheep, no doubt more to come. But I do have to complement the drunkards as excellent producers and purveyors of fine malt whiskey.....

If bathing occurs regularly smell will tell. (Unless the alcohol scent is too strong.) This is why some must drink before they fuck...
