What ever happened re the supposed vaccine that would prevent the body from making male hormones? Was it effective? Did it work? Was it just a pipedream?

What ever happened to Neutersol ? I thought it was fictional until I ran a search on it. Apparently, there really is such a thing and it is used for castrating puppies. It is said to be zinc gluconate buffered with arginine. Zinc compounds are powerful astringents and would surely dessicate the seminiferous tubules and probably the epithelial tissue also. In puppies, Neutersol is said to cause atrophy of the prostate gland as well. Since it is available to the veterinary profession, I should think that there would be black-market sources of it available to those who want it for human use.
