Well,

I really hate to say this but most doctors offices are less of an infection risk than most hospitals. If there are infected people you will find them congregaing at the hospital and not the doctor's office.

And yes, the anti-biotics are a good idea. If you see a good doctor and you hate to take pills, insist on an intramusculat injection of anti-biotic. It is faster, more efficient and better than pills.

If you are not able to go back in 48 hours for a 2nd shot, then finish the antibiotics off with pills. Take it from me, barring I.V. anti-biotics, the intra-muscular injection of anti-biotics is the way to go.

This just amazes me.

When I was 12, I had my hand literally tore in half down the middle. It took 13 stitches to close. They were in for two weeks, and I had them removed. I never had any problems with the cuts separating, or anything opening back up.

One would think that the thin skin of the scrotum, by comparison, would have reattached itself quickly and healed faster.

There must have been, as suspected, some infection preventing this.

Granted, a hand is not a scrotum, but you'd THINK the scrotum would heal faster than that. I don't remember any odor from my hand, either.

Do keep us posted, though, and take care.

We're concerned, you know.

No apology is needed .I only need to know that you are well. After going through an operation and the aftermath you have earned the right to a little stress. Instead, I apologize to you for adding to that stress. Take care, FLO

LOL,Leona :)

I had a friend who recently had one testicle removed this way due to testicular cancer. He asked the doctor why they went through the abdomin instead of the scrotum and the doctor told him that is was less complications and a faster recovery time. Of course this comes with a downside of a near 4" scar on both sides of your pubic region. The next time I see him I'll ask him if the surgery was done under local or general sedation. I would prefer to have my scrotum removed anyway so the abdominal surgery doesn't appeal to me.

My pain level and healing process was much easier with the abdominal procedure than the scrotal operation performed by Dr. Felix Spector. Spector left a lot of bruising which looked disgusting and his procedure required a lot of attention in order to prevent infection.

If I had to redo either operation, I would choose the abdominal procedure and live with the visable scar. I say this from experience with both procedures.

luvpain (imported) wrote: Wed Sep 15, 2004 9:04 am Yeah it is defintely wise to take the antibiotics to help ward of infections, I used amoxicillin when I saw the cutter.

The whole idea of the antibiotic is to help the body fight off infection be cause it is surgery and shit happens and just to be safe. Ie accidental cross contamination, air born bacteria (especially if he isn't wearing a mask)

Yeah pierciers and tattoo artist have changed over the years they are required to take classes on blood boor pathogens an sterality, etc. In fact most of the better artist are more sterile then most doctors.

HOW TRUE,

I have been in and out of the hospital and Dr's offices a lot in the last 3 years. I am not refering to Dr Kimmel but all doctors offices.

I got my first tattoo about a month ago and the tattoo parlor and artist provided a more starile place then any of the doctors I have seen. I was very impressed.

I already have him working on my next one. 🌐//www.eunuch.org/Public/Images/ea1/E9.gif

I have an idea for the third on rolling around in my head.

Glad your are better BigTwin.
