1500 years (at least) on this drizzly island... hundreds of years of folk music in the family moaning about the drizzle.

Ah, now I understand why there is such a strong English-Scottish strain in east Tennessee. Tell me, in addition to rain do that hundreds of years of folk music also talk about Mom, prison, pickup trucks and getting drunk?

Ummm... "The Mon" (meaning the king, the Norman invaders (yes, still)); I guess prison but usually gallows in old stuff; horses; and yes, getting drunk and the whole Mysteries of John Barleycorn and the Barleymow stuff...

I agree with this now being a year into being a eunuch. In furry you see it a lot. People with fursona's that are neutered or null and the amount of followers they gain off of the pretend mods they don't have is very interesting. Most of them are all fantasy seekers, some actual wannabes, but it's like why not take the next step and make it real so you can actually call yourself a eunuch or neutered person?

This is pretty much how I feel about it. Calling yourself a eunuch or nullo when you've not had the surgery is insulting to those of us who have had it. I know there are people out there doing that who are serious and will one day get it done, but until you've made that irreversible commitment to have the body parts in question removed, I feel you've not earned the right to call yourself that.

I am the most real eunuch who became to that as a result of surgical removal of my genitals.

I am sure that the eunuch it is possible to become and other ways...

I even like that some people volunteer to do it :)

I'm not upset that a person has not yet achieved the desired result, but I wish them good luck...

This is why I feel on more comfortable ground with the word Spado... my testes are so bad I've been signed off sick since October 2021 because of them... but the damned things are still there. In 2020 I paid and was consented for surgery, but some bigot at the hospital hosting the operation vetoed it at the last minute and I was refunded. So I have a signed consent form... might get it framed as a souvenir of the long fight for treatment! Not sure if that qualifies as <irreversible commitment>, but certainly demonstrates seriousness.

I think the word eunuch will hit difficulties with the SoC 8 attaching it to gender identity, in that gender identity can obtain in a person prior to affirmative surgery... so the category is likely to be seen as less like a physiological category.

Either way, glad to be in the community generally.

The SOC8 also has a section on non-binary people, which didn't exist in SOC7.
