Do you still need to post in the forum every so often to stay registered?
Posting isn't required to maintain membership. You DO need to sign in to the forums at least once per year to stay registered. Those who do not sign in at least once per year are deemed inactive and are deleted.

Correct me if I'm wrong Kristoff, but I think it means needing to sign in to THESE forums (http://forums.eunuch.org/) and not just the 'story' section (http://www.eunuchworld.org) I seem to remember conversations in the past from people that got the inactivity bump even though they claimed to be avid story readers...
Just mentioning it as a possible clarification...

You are correct. The story board is NOT the forums, and checking in there does not count toward being an active member of the forums.
