I prescribe to the notion a man presents as a man and a woman presents as a woman. if a man in a dress stops at a door, I'll open it

In the past Ive struggled to come to terminology as to what I am now, following my unmanning over five years ago. Im a eunuch. Im still a male, but not having testicles, I no longer am a man, by definition. Being cut does affect ones sexuality in various ways; however, I still am a male.

I'm the right normal kind of man now. A moderated man. Testosterone levels should be low in men. Many experts agree with this. You don't need much testosterone to father children and have strength. Too much testosterone is unnatural in men and turns them into freak shows with too much sex drive and aggressive behavior. Men were never meant to be that way. Biggest myth ever. Very abnormal.
During most of human history, few lived beyond 40, so menopause in women corresponded roughly to the same period when men were alive and able to reproduce. I agree that modern men who live past 40 don't really need testosterone and it frequently means that their desire for sex becomes greater than their female partners (whole different story for gay males of course). Unfortunately having enough testosterone to sustain sex drive in our later years is natural, but made maladaptive by our long life spans. As a man still very much in love with his now postmenopausal wife, having very low testosterone and maintained on female hormones feels perfect for me. I see myself as an improved version of a male.

Oh how true. I'm the same way with my wife. I feel much more "human" now, no more maddening sex drive.

Actually, it's a myth that there were not a lot of older people in the ancient days. While on average the lifespan was much lower, your chance of living a long life were pretty good if you made it past childhood.

I don't know if I'm a male anymore what am I really?
Check out genderbread.org for the Genderbread Person v4.0, my favourite model of gender and its relation to biological sex:
https://www.genderbread.org/resource/ge ... 4-0-poster
Biological sex, gender identity, and gender expression are all separate things. While for many people these are aligned so that female=woman and male=man, this is not the case for all people.
The current jargon is to use female/male to refer to biological sex and woman/man to refer to gender, so I would re-frame your question as "are castrated males still men?" Males castrated for medical reasons may still identify as men and thus are men. Eunuchs include males castrated to align their bodies with a eunuch gender identity and those who have accepted their castrated body as a eunuch gender identity.

It seems castration, accepting and validating a homosexual (especially submisive) identity, and cross gender behavior, dress or hormone treatment defineately alter male identity.
Masculinity, for one of the above, could have been a safe place. Asserting a strong male image....can perhaps communicate you need space to others. Losing that ability can be scary, fearful really. I imagine having a few close friends and hunkering down in some kind of jinni bottle could help.

It depends on each man and what he wants. Lots of us men love testosterone and what it does for us and to us. Extreme testosterone levels are very attractive in men to some men and women in their choice of mates and sex partners. Men can choose to channel that extra testosterone into violence, sex, sports, work, being professional warriors such as military men, police, firemen, and high risk jobs.
Men were always designed by nature and evolution to meet many different roles and needs down through untold millions of years of human history. Extra high T levels were necessary in violent conditions and harsh living conditions and when getting erections and feeling like having sex and successfully impregnating women and protecting and raising babies in very stressful living conditions was very necessary to even continue the human species through the hardest times imaginable.
Our male bodies were designed and evolved over eons of time to deal with far more varied conditions than our current lives. And who knows what will be needed in the future from future men ?

Exactly! Being hyperactive I strongly identifying. So many hyper boys are medicated into oblivion, labeled a problem or "benched". Helping these beauties understand what puberty is going to be like, before the testosterone hits, is really the answer.

I am a male but no longer feel like a man even with TRT
My feelings exactly. I am a castrated male with a penis. Even with TRT I have no libido. I have what I call libido edging. I have an inner craving to get aroused sexually, but no amount of visual or tactile experiences brings my craving to a peak.
I still remember what it was like to have balls, seeing them, feeling them, and enjoying them flopping around. I am trying to adjust to being a eunuch but this is not an easy task.
It is an emotional journey that seems to lead to just despair. I keep hoping that eventually I will forget what my life was like before being castrated due to a medical condition, not cancer.
So, while I identify as male, look male, feel male, I feel emasculated. I am definitely impotent, except for the rare occasional erection that does occur at night so I know the physical functioning still works, which only adds to my consternation. I can not voluntarily get anything to work. I am attempting to come to accept that I am a eunuch, but this is very difficult. I never wanted this. If my doctor does not change my prescription this coming week to improve my testosterone level, it is still low, I am on the verge of just throwing in the towel and stopping the testosterone gel completely. If so, perhaps that will completely eliminate the frustrations I am having with always being on the edge.
