How does one buy those good boots? By brand? By store? I have an Aussie friend who turned me onto Ecco shoes. Same thing. Quality blows the competition away. Like buying a Volvo. You pay, but you'd better like it because it is yours for a very, very long time. You'll go thru several cheap shoes in the life of a pair of Ecco shoes.
look up "Stuart Weitzman" I am rather partial to the Lowland and the midland style. To be certain, he makes a style for practically every taste. But don't be shocked by the sticker prices. They are the best. I'll be looking up the Ecco you mentioned.

Ecco has ooutlet stores. I got slip-ons in Las Vegas and then tennis shoes in Scottsdale. I like to try things on.

Yep, it's nice to be able to try things on. Saves on the returns. Although I've not had any issues and Stuart Weitzman has a no questions asked return policy. Never needed to return anything. They just always seem to fit. As for my custom jeans, no need to return since they're made to the measurements I provide to the exact style I provide. I've had great luck thus far. To be certain, I'll be checking out the Ecco store in Scottsdale immediately when I come North of the border next month. Always looking for a place to buy quality rather than cheap knockoff products. We get what we pay for in life don't we.

Well there are several sources Gordon. During the past few years the Western Seaboard of India has pretty much been the denim capital of the world. And as such I've had quite a few articles of clothing custom made for me out of India. One of my favorite places is
https://www.makeyourownjeans.com Take your time and measure yourself correctly using the guide on their web page and then choose any and all options you like when ordering. And be certain to understand that having jeans custom made to your exact size and style will take 4 or 5 weeks to be delivered to your doorstep. They accept Paypal and just plain do a good job. There are also others that I've used over the years which are all just as good. This company also makes denim skirts for me and I will very shortly have them make me a couple pair of 1860s (that the year) Spanish style Gauchos out of the 15oz denim that I like so much. If I could ever convince a company in Japan to sell me a bolt of their 22oz denim I would have it sent to the makeyourownjeans folks for my garments. But alas, those Japs just don't want to let go of the goods.

Excuse me - what foot size do you have? I can only look at their EU website, and the biggest size they sell is 42 - or is there a male collection?

Now that is an interesting dilemma. Shoe size definitely is an issue between regions and manufacturers. I wear a man's size 8.5 Wide or a woman's size 11 wide. In the boots that I like I order a half size larger as they run just a tad small from the factory.

Since these are custom made jeans the differences are very small. However note that other than where they contour to your body, the biggest and perhaps only real difference is that the fly and buttons will be on opposite sides between men's clothing and women's clothing. Not that anybody would ever really notice whether your britches button from the left or from the right.
