That s a big expense for two balls. But if you spread that out over all the future years of you being a eunuch, its not so bad a price per year.

A simple orchiectomy, not radical. Still not sure if it's going to be done under a local or general. At this point I don't care.

In my personal opinion, "because I want to" is way enough of a reason. So wish you well in going ahead. And make sure you have it done in the way you want to have it done. By the way, even when you're awake, you probably won't be able to see anything (I didn't, and I had spinal anesthesia).

No need to explain that you are not planning any transition towards a female stereotype. Every self-view is valid, and again - what you want for yourself is the only thing that matters.

Towards dysphoria: It is right that trans people (not necessarily transwomen) often have dysphoria in one way or another, but not always, and not necessarily. Speakimg for myself, it took me about thirty years to realize that my impression to be phase-shifted to my environment (sometimes strong, often unnoticeable) was in fact a kind of dysphoria. But again, there are many trans people without dysphoria, that is not a requirement to be allowed to call oneself trans.

For a simple and the price you've got, I really doubt it would be a general anesthesia, that means a hospital, and extra Doctor, extra nurses and equipment.

It can be done with a local in the Doctor's office which is how mine was done. Or as noted, a spinal might be done but I'm betting it'll be a local and I could not see what was going on either but that wasn't really important to me.

Got a question, if anyone has any experience with Spironolactone and an Orchiectomy. I know that I'll need to taper off the Spiro, you can't just cold turkey that stuff. I’m taking 100mg 2 X day. I'm wondering if I should taper down to nothing just before my surgery or wait till after?

And no, I can't ask my prescribing doctor because he is incommunicado. He badly injured his foot/ankle a while ago and had to have surgery. His nurse says that he'll be back in March some time. And no, they will not contact him for me to ask. Kind of a bum deal that I really don't understand.
