Re: Mr Robot (tv show)
I must say this about episode ten --
When the network postponed it for a violent scene -- they weren't joking or puffing.
There's a press conference about halfway through the episode... be warned of it... That's all I will say just be warned. IT is one of the most violent scenes put to TV and it deserved the warning.
Don't spoil it.
Much of the interest of the story of MR ROBOT is the revealing of what the audience doesn't know. That's why I am so cryptic and ambiguous about what I am saying.

Re: Mr Robot (tv show)
A bump up for the end of 2015 madness...
The USA channel is running a MR ROBOT marathon from 11pm Tuesday night until 10pm Wednesday
-- that's two complete ten episode cycles. So if you wanted to see what it was all about, here's your chance.
This (in my opinion) was one of the best pieces of storytelling in 2015. It did not treat the viewer as a tweenie girl or a giggle happy 13 year old boy. Instead they treated the viewers as an adult with a functional brain.

It's Back!
Tonight is the second season premier.
I hope this season is as enjoyable and as much fun as the first.

I just watched a couple of Season 1 "refresher" specials from USA Network on demand. I hadn't remembered that Elliot's story ended with a knock on his apartment door. I recall the season ending with some kind of "nefarious" meeting of corporate bigwigs. B.D. Wong was one of the attendees.
We'll see where things pick up in a few hours ...

It picks up in a darker place.
And I would tell that anyone who wants to see the second season before or without seeing the first -- you can't do that. This is a complex story and the pieces fall into place bit by bit. The second season depends so much on what happens in the first. I recommend that anyone find a way to watch the first season and then catch up on the second.

Re: Mr Robot (tv show)
Episode 2: This is a fascinating tour of several rather sick minds.
Elliot actually tells his therapy group what he thinks of God and it is spectacular.
There's also a segment where thugs for the mob pour concrete into Elliot's throat in preparation to throw him in the river.
That happens before he decides to tell the truth.
A big dooby makes an appearance.
E-Corp might get the law shove up its ass but nothing is without consequences.
The FBI lady makes a discovery.
A very odd and wicked episode.

Re: Mr Robot (tv show)
I was rather hoping there would'nt be a season 2 as the first was pretty damned good and would best be left there.
I may be wrong??????

Re: Mr Robot (tv show)
Any show that keeps me guessing about the plot is good.
I don't have any expectations for season 2 but I also didn't know the direction they would take.
So far, season two has held my attention.

I'm glad I didn't have any expectations for season 2.
I watched the first two episodes and the season was a slow-moving pile of psycho silliness.
I watched the last episode of the season and it was still a slow-moving, no action, mess of psychological silliness.
FIGHT CLUB did the "untrustworthy narrator" things better -- There has to be something besides "strangeness" going on in between the character reveal of the opening and the revelation that the world is not as it seems.
THE USUAL SUSPECTS is engaging all the way through. There isn't a portion of it that doesn't entertain.
So my "no expectations" were met with a rousing "blah!"
