OH yes Blue Moon is still around I even bought the fall lineup of several harvest beers from them however a friend introduced me to Corona's on Superbowl Sunday and I must say its even better then Blue Moon. I also like Henry Weinhard's but you could not get them east of the rockies. For a person like me who has never been a beer drinker I have really taken a liking to them, its better then soda and doesn't set off the blood sugar.

Of course one is usually my limit and Pizza and a beer is a real treat.

I also hate the Daylight Saving Time (Summertime), which was introduced in 1977 for most countries of the European Union on the continent, where the Central European Time went one hour forward. It made me angry, I had a jet-leg, the light said it was almost summer, it was still very cold and during summer we didn't have those lovely and romantic dark sultry evenings anymore. This change happened somewhere in March and somewhere in September the clock went back. This however unlike some websites seem now to claim, it was not in late October, for many years was my birthday (10-15) are outside the Summertime and I was doubly angry when they moved the transition to late October. The argument for setting DST in 1977 was energy savings due to the oil crises, but the actual argument would be that the introduction was primarily at the insistence of France, because the French farmers exerted political pressure. Today the French farmers want to return to normal time. The Federal Republic of Germany (West) did not participate in the first year of the introduction of Summertime because the German Democratic Republic (East) did not participate and the difference in time would emphasize the separated nature of the two German states. In September 1977 I was in Berlin and suddenly it felt like everything was normal again.

The UK with its Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) had its own summertime (DST), but that was not on equal days to that of the continent, so it was that by putting forward the clock for DST that we had every year we a short period of time, only a few weeks, identical the same time at our clocks as in the UK.

Strictly speaking, we in the Netherlands would belong in the UK GMT time zone, but the border of the (german) Central European Time has moved to the west in the Second World War. Even more strictly speaking, according to the solar time our clocks are 20 minutes fast compared to London and 40 minutes behind to Berlin. Through the summer time (DST) we run 40 + 60 = 1 hour and 40 minutes ahead of solar time. At 13:40 Central European Time, the sun is at its zenith and it is midday it should be time 12 o'clock local time. To prevent skin damage we have to stay longer (after 3 PM) out of the sun.

If you don't like daylight savings time then blame Benjamin Franklin. Also, this "great scientist" invented positive current flow thus perpetuating IDIOT electrical engineers and he came up with the idea of INSURANCE allowing legalized extortion.

Too bad the lightning struck his kite instead if him.
