Re: It's Been One of Those Days - Tell Us About It!

In keeping with the spirit of this thread, here is hoping that probe shorts out while in use, Uncle Flo. Put some spark in your life.
This thread can launch me into a rant. The long and short of it is that it seems like things do not work as I would think they are supposed to.
I could start with cell phone issues (replacement batteries not working properly and the UPS pickup service for a cell left in a motel not working as we thought) and continue thru getting an insurance license because I thought there might be some opportunities with the ACA which meant putting a couple of thousand miles on my truck and spending the equivalent of a few weeks sitting in a kiosk for a major and well thought of insurance company and a couple of thousand for classes, testing, licensing and all to earn not one penny. Then continue with a recent trip occasioned by a death in the family and flight delays causing us to land at DFW just as the onward flight was scheduled to depart, so we got a voucher for dinners and a night’s stay at a hotel which was an hour from the airport which meant we arrived after they quite serving dinner and their courtesy van did not begin until too late the next morning for our re-scheduled flight so we went back to DFW to find it closed and my kids and I slept on the tile floor at the security entrance. I have tried to volunteer on Tuesdays for a group an hour and a half away in the capital which prepares taxes for the poor, but every Tuesday like clockwork something happens (bad directions, death in family, kid sick, etc.) so I end up looking like a slug. My wife prints a paper weekly and I try to help with printing (after 2 AM) and folding. Often I can finish that between by early morning. I had an appointment for an insurance client at 9 AM and she got mad that I left without finishing the folding. So I planned nothing before our normal time of finishing about ten. Of course, the first time I scheduled an 11 AM appointment, the machine had pure paper jams all the time after midnight and I did not finish folding by 11. Pissed off wife again. OK. So I schedule my next appointment on press day for 3 PM. The printer then had issues with the toner distribution and had not finished folding by 3 pm, just to piss off wifey again.
It just seems like things do not work very well. Am I the only one?
