IE was in chat tonight. He said he's feeling better but that he has been awake for 60 hours (due to the meds).
He thinks now he'll be released Thursday

Up for 60 hours even if due to medications can cause collapse from exhaustion.

Health Care should know this, eh.

The insomnia is from the steroids and the theophylline. Usually, it is balanced out with dihendramine, but not always.
Get well, I.E., find out what you are allergic to and avoid it. NEVER, EVER be without an epi-pen now. Epinepherine can save your life when this happens...

Get some sleep.
Tell 'em to call in the anesthesiologist.
Let the Profolol drip.
In the old days they could have just used a barbiturate.
The Benzo-s of today cannot cut it in medication reactions as well as barbs.

IE just now signed out of the chat room.
He's on sold food, finally.
Tomorrow, he gets out of ICU into a regular ward with Nurse Ratched
Theoritically, he goes home FRiday.
He should be more than ready - no nicotine and no beer for several days

Glad to hear that he is doing better. Hope he recovers quickly and uneventfully.
