Best scenes... realistic and emotionally correct. "Stalingrad" I guess.

But scenes of death are not something I like. Especially in movies such scenes are too sterile unreal. Unemotional.

In exchange I would suggest some real life scenes to look at. that would change your view on killings, suicides, deaths.

I won't put here any links. As it is truly disturbing view.

There are widely spread videos of online suicide. Seek "Marcus Jannes"

Then there are some throat cutting and beheadings of russian soldiers by chechen fighters. These videos are truly horrible.

Also some ukrainan teens recorded with a phone a victim during killing.

Death is a serious thing.

...what was the name of the flick in the late 60's - early 70's with Ali McGraw? HELL, the whole damned move was one long, drawn out, death scene... what was it called? Love Story? ...or something like that.

My favorite death scenes were in Ghost when the black shadow-thingies came and dragged the bad souls into the sewers and such.

The death scenes in Constantine were pretty good, too.

...right up there with Johnny Depp in "Sleepy Hollow" "...the heads will roll..." My favorite was the fat old guy with the full head of grey hair whose head once liberated spun like a top and then rolled between the protagonist's legs and then was skewered by the Hession's sword...

...good movie... funny parts, terrifying parts and GREAT effects...

who doesn't remember Indiana Jones people?!!!

I loved all 3 of them but the endings for both raiders of the lost ark and the last crusade were wickedly orgasmic.

As a kid they were shocking. The nazi's melting face left a scar in my fragile little mind till i grew out of it 3 yrs later. same with the rapid old aging scene where the villian drinks from the wrong chalice or goblet. Those deaths are fricken epic.

OK, I admit I may be a bit of a pretentious intellectual snob, but one of my all time favorites movie death scene is that most satirized scene from Bergman's The Seventh Sea. where the Knight plays chess with a white faced Death, distracting him so the young actor and his wife can sneak quietly away, escaping the Angel of Death, who at the end is seen dancing the Knight and his party in the Dance of Death across the horizon into the Dark Land. I had dreams about that scene for years. There is a brilliant parody of this (and a couple of other Bergman movies) calledThe Dove, which was Madeline Kahn's first film appearance. (You can see it at

My second favorite is probably the "My name
is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." scene from The Princess Bride.

While not a 'Death' scene exactly..however there is no way he could have lived...

The Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Honorable mention to: Lancelot killing the wedding guests, the Stoning scene in Life of Brian, and of course Live Liver Transplant in Meaning of Life.

Wow Cainanite, seems like you know how to pick them. got any more good one's that leave ingrained memories after so many yrs?

One of my friends reffered to the saw movies and I stared at him point blank. My response was

"I bet within 7-10 yrs you won't remember a thing about those death scenes. They lack substance."

Ugh....Final destination is another shitty movie. I mean come on they got the physics entirely wrong. I thought they were done when they released "The final destination"

But....no!!!!!!!......they went and released a sequel.

What's wrong with these hollywood guys?

You guys won't believe me but I haven't went to a real movie where I've had to pay in 2 yrs now. I hang out with one of my best buds who still works at cineplex.
