Re: I suspect I was fired from my job due to being Gay...
Its a culture thing, back in the 60's mixed marriages were looked at the same way as gays are today, over time it will get better it is a slow process for sure. My reference for this is how my brother was treated back in the 50's and 60's and how gays are treated today, it is better but it still has a long way to go.

I live in a city of 42,000 and I have been out since I was dragged out of the closet in Jr. High and High school. I am out at my jobs where if someone asks I will tell them. During my sexual addiction years many men learned of my talents. Sorry but discretion has left the building. On National Coming Out Day I can only retell people I am gay. My good friends act surprised and then we have a chuckle.

God... I had never imagined that things like this were still going on, let alone that so many of you were having problems with it. How is this still possible in this information age where people have the entire world at their fingertips? I really don't get it. Are people really this stupid?

Easily. It is information age, so they just digest information selectively. Just that.cheetaking243 (imported) wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:50 pm God... Sorry, but I am cynic here.
It is all about organized religions and their attempts at control and/or their own denial.

Yes religion is a source of the problem. I attended catholic schools and much of what was taught in religion classes practically gave my fellow students permission to bully me. One priest even insulted me during class. Later he was accused of abusing altar boys. At a catholic school no one stepped in to stop my being beaten at class changes. The closeted, drunken, gay student counselor was the fastest at getting past me and my torture.
Much of what was learned back then is still with people
catholic and homophobic. One day during the holidays he was walking around shaking people's hands thanking them for their hard work. He went to shake my hand and quickly drew his hand back.
I think people like to think someone is gay but prefer not to be told. Thinking is more comfortable than knowing.

Re: I suspect I was fired from my job due to being Gay...
Hi guys. First than anythinjg, I don´t want you to start fighting. Secondly, I am already getting another job. Also, I´ve been in situations where I simply accepted my sexual orientation, and others when I simply denied it. I knew some people who were supportive, other who plainly disliked me, and some others who were rather hipocrytes. I usually may go on without raising too much suspicion, however, I began to accept what I am, and started to stop denying what I am. I know a lot of people that know that I am gay, but there are also a lot of people who completely ignore this. I´ll admit that I had a crush on someone who I saw frecuently in my job, (and even he knows and accepts it) but we NEVER engaged on anything "suspicious" other than ocasionally talking. Actually I am OK as nobody dares to damage him (sorry guys, I really miss him). I never told anybody of my bosses that I am gay, at least I was that careful, or so I thought.

Oh we are not fighting we save that for politics. I am glad you have a new job and things are improving. As you can tell I might have a little resentment from things that happened in the past. Instead of saying more here I will take it to my own thread. Best of luck.

Hey tugon, I also got some resentment towards them. Actually, this was from some betrayal that some "acquaintenance" that I met some time ago. Sorry for him, though. He just proved to be another annoying person in my life. I don´t give them a (/&% anymore.

I know this might sound strange but now is the time for you to forgive them, yes forgive them completely for what they did to you. You don't need to tell them in person the forgiveness is not for them but for you. Do this and do it honestly and this will never bother you again, you will be free of it.

Personal to Bob/3 and the REST of the gang...
Have you ever noticed in the movies how "funny" that John Wayne and Steven Segal walk?
...just sayin'...
...do YOU think that they could control this walk? Do YOU think that they were or have ever been discriminated against because of their "WALK"?
You just go look at some of their movies. Roy Rogers not Chuck Norris don't walk like that, DO THEY?
You see, the answer is for some GAY man to knock the shit out of a couple of the "discriminators" ...
OH! THE HORRORS! To be STOMPED by somebody who ..."WALKS FUNNY"...
