2.Rt doesn't run off of x86 architecture

fun fact

anyone have a transformer prime.

It's really a good amazing tablet. If yer down to unlock it and tinkering with it:D

Here's a few hacks for those interested

1.microsd is a plus side----- the infinity and prime both suffer from a bottleneck and that is poor random writes onto the built in emmc chip(glorified surface mounted flash drive or nand), the thing is asus fucked the pooch here they went cheap on us with internal storage

the solution is to install the OS onto a very fast microsd card with fast sequential and random read and writes.

the prime default storage -----runs at 0.22megabits/sec(it's a disgrace)

a sandisk micro sd class 10 ultra 64gb ------runs at 18MB/s-20Mb/s sequentially

runs at 1.5MB/s randomly(this is good bc it even trumps the nexus 7 random speeds 0.7MB/s)

2. Install "Pimp my rom"

3. install clean rom 2.3(Crazy how a transformer infinity rom works on the prime!!!)

4. install a custom kernel(Clemsyn's 1.8ghz kernel and GPU overclcoked to 650 MHZ-----works only on clean rom 2.3)

NB = steps 2 and 3 are jelly bean roms btw

5. choose your IO schedule governor.(the fancier it is = to more overhead, go with "SIO" or "NOOP")

6. buy a anker battery if you really want to extend the battery even further(as if the dock wasn't enough)

NB = I'm such a uber nerd it gives me the jiggles!!!!

I ALSO FORGOT THAT THE BEST RECOVERY METHOD TO INSTALL ROMS IS USING TWRP>

A graphical user interface for the bootloader to install fresh roms that is touchscreen based.

Wow! a really old thread but still valid today.

Having never used a Microsoft product as digital privacy is important I always used linux boxes.

Now Asus recently came out with a nifty chromebook flip that can be either a laptop or a tablet.

Of course anything chromebook is a serious opening up of all your private information to the world.

A simple change in the firmware (ROM if you will) and install Linux. A great device at an affordable price.

Posting on it this very moment for all you geeks in the forum. Hee Heee Heeee!
